Easts 1st colts seem to be a bit of a dark horse this year! No big names in the team. Pauli Taumoepaeu seems to have crafted a team big on heart, without the heroes!

Super Rugby players that aren’t playing for the Wallabies at the time will be spread around the competition under a quota system. Great idea for the NRC! Shame they couldn't have done this in club over the last few years - or even in future if cheika still lets non palying Waratahs come back...

Went down to watch Easts v Souths 3rd colts today! The thing that pleased me the most was the number of boys back playing for Easts that had played Juniors with them (many not since U13s). The most pleasing aspect the fact that they weren't 1st XV stars, but rather 2nds, 3rds 4ths players coming...

Owls looking to have a better season this year in colts! They won the Laffin Cup (a University competition) and looked much stronger than last year.

I would love to see some research done on how many of these "very talented gps"1st XV boys go on to play club rugby! It seems from watching colts, that a great many of them have had enough & don't go onto play club. Only a tiny percentage can go onto super rugby, and the more time spent training...

A reasonably large number of them are water Polo players,& a few cricketers! Bound to be a few rugby players there as well.
