    Reds 2014

Sad to see a few go but it was inevitable, and probably hasn't stopped yet. Can't fault players for following game time opportunity or bigger bucks....short career window and all that. Still...the nucleus of good players are still there and quite young, so some wise recruiting will ensure that...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

Been a while since I posted and not in Brisbane at the moment so interesting to see how the Premier comp is unfolding. Brothers never cease to amaze. Thought they might be a little light on this year but they've really started with a bang. Michael Bond an extremely good pick up and with him...

    Reds 2013

I won't dispute this. I just think that Tapuai is a better option at 13 than Fainga'a, and both are good 12's.

    Reds 2013

Given that McDuling has done his knee, there is a massive opportunity for Browning.

    Reds 2013

Strong line up, although I reckon that Ben Lucas will get the first crack at halfback. Also, I think that Morahan is fully fit. I would also prefer Tapuai at 13 and Fainga'a at 12, and Robinson starting with Gill coming off the bench fresh, given Pocock is the opposing 7. The two trial games...

    Waratahs 2013

Now that Folau has inked a deal with the Tah's I hope he applies himself fully and makes a good fist of it.

I'm going to disagree TD. Lucas has quite a good running game and IMO is a more versatile 10 than Harris. What I like about Harris is that he is an exceptional goal kicker who seems very reliable and does the simple things, like running on to the ball and into a gap, very well.

    Reds 2013

Mostly agree, although I'd put CFS and Toua as depth for the No. 11 wing spot and Lance and Toua can also cover 13 as well if stocks get low.

    Reds 2013

From what I hear Davies is raring to go. Backs positions are going to be very keenly contested, none more so then the wings. Be interesting to see as well how the Number 10. battle develops particularly with the cloud hanging over QC (Quade Cooper)'s future. Do the Reds opt for Harris, does Lucas get a crack...

    Thoughts on Folau to rugby

I can't remember seeing him in any of the age group teams. I thought he went to Marsden High and played league.

    Reds 2013

In less than two months we will have the two trial games. One in Toowoomba, the other on the Sun Coast, and both against NZ franchises. I think the Blues are one, not sure about the other. The squad is pretty much unchanged but it will be interesting to see who runs where in the trials...

    Thoughts on Folau to rugby

Good on Folau for trying to get maximum dollar in the bank while he is still a bankable young athlete but I can't help but think that he is quickly burning his bridges. He made a lot of money out of AFL, realised he was no good at it, and went looking for a lifeline out, which Parramatta...

    Rebels 2013

I liked what I saw in Phipps a couple of seasons ago and thought he was in great form. He hasn't quite lived up to my early expectation but I don't think he is as diabolical as people make out. Have to say that I'm surprised Kingi hasn't been given more of a go, particularly given his utlity...

Australia v. France 10 Nov 2012 Stade de France, Paris

Haven't read a lot of the post match comments but I'm sure my disappointment matches most. Have to say though that I thought the French were outstanding.

Who should be the next ARU CEO?

He was the COO at a Brisbane based, ASX listed company prior to the CA gig, so is no stranger to the Corporate world.

2013 S15 New kids on the block

Maybe due to squad injuries Curtis Browning gets plucked out Clubland and the Reds College and makes every post a winner. That would be a total NKOTB. Thing about it is that there seem to be fewer 'new' new players in squads than in 2012, the Aussie ones at least, so we may see less new talent...

    Reds 2013

How do players like Horie (Japan) and O'Donoghue (Ireland A) get treated under the 'foreign player'rule if they do get called up to the Reds gameday 22?

Well, that time of the year to get the crystal balls out ....... Some absolute finds this year across the various franchises. Who will next years discoveries be?

    Qld Premier Rugby 2012

I think it is pretty awesome for a teenager to be playing as a forward in Premier Grade, let alone as a Prop. I only saw him in a couple of games but Paraka was more than competent against the adults, and did dominate set piece occasionally. Don't know that he'll lose any weight but if he...
