    Reds 2013

I expect Malouf, Browning and Placid will be involved in some form next year. Maybe a couple of other uni forwards as well. In the club rugby thread people are mentioning Rex Tapuai, Dion Taumata and Nigal Ah Wong as well. What is the point of having an ARU academy in brisbane if the reds have...

    Reds 2013

Surely we could have done better than jono owen.

    End of Year Tour 2012

I would have taken both of them over Ben McCalman in the Ireland game. The real mistake was they they couldn't sign george smith until the end of the world cup. Unbelievable really.

    Rebels 2013

Creevy, Guinazu or Postiglioni? Will said player be making an appearance for the two blues later in the season?

    End of Year Tour 2012

Backrow will continue to struggle I think. I am gills biggest fan but 3 opensides in a squad of 30 seems like a bit much. People talk about politicians making up policy on the run. Well deans is making up strategy on the run - last year he would only pick one open side in his 30 man squad...

Herald Sun Article - Rugby boring

I don't necessarily think you are correct. In the last 10-20 years a lot of aspects of rugby have changed and made the game worse to watch. The scrum 'hit' is one example, and there is currently a push from all corners of the globe (the poms especially) to remove it and go back to how scrums...

    Brumbies 2013

He's more of an inside back though. He'd be a decent buy for the eps considering he's probably just about the best unsigned centre in the country at the moment. Don't know if he will ever crack the big time again though.

    $1 million Rugby Revolution

Bond has all the pieces in place though to make it work: they have shown a willingness to sponsor rugby, they have a large amount of students actually living on campus and they have no problem handing out scholarships as well. I agree that we've missed the boat with uni rugby, and also that...

    End of Year Tour 2012

I didn't say that he should not be picked, but rather that you see the top props from other countries and they are just as effective as kepu at scrum time but they do a whole lot more around the paddock. Hence why I said I wonder what palmer can do once he get fit again. He has often had the...

    Brumbies 2013

Is this outside back still at school, at BBC perhaps? Because if not I can't think of any saffers running round in the club comp who are super rugby standard apart from the the smith twins.

The TV Broadcasting of Australian Rugby

Glad to get rid of Nine. They deserve to go broke the way the joint is run. Hopefully the ARU can squeeze the finals series of the club comps onto ONE HD.

    $1 million Rugby Revolution

I can just picture it now. ACU could be like Australia's own Notre Dame.

    $1 million Rugby Revolution

I actually think a university based system could work, but the universities involved would have to invest heavily in building support for the team around the campus. The competition would have to be done 'right'. That means afternoon games, buses to and from games, $3 dollar beers and very...

Scott Higginbotham - Liverpool kiss on McCaw

Etzebeth got 2 weeks for the 1 indiscretion did he not? Higgers got 4 weeks for 2 indiscretions..... I wont disagree that the judiciary is an embarrassment to the sport though.

    End of Year Tour 2012

I'm still not sold on Kepu. He is first choice because he scrummages better than Alexander and Slipper, but I reckon both of them offer significantly more around the park than him. Will be interesting to see what palmer bring to the table once he gets back to fitness.

    End of Year Tour 2012

Ill bite. He'd be rushed into the starting XV after Digby, Shmoo, Shipperly, Cummins, Tomane, Morahan and probably also Turner. ....I'd pick him over Vuna but

What characteristics make for a good nine?

I'm no biologist so I'll take your word for it. But the body does grow accustom to habits. E.g. your bowling action or rowing stroke. If you have time there is a video on youtube about Tim Teebow reworking his passing technique in the NFL off season. It took him thousands of passes before he...

Scott Higginbotham - Liverpool kiss on McCaw

Sentencing should be for games not weeks. This is a fair result considering what etzebeth got.

    End of Year Tour 2012

I honestly only reckon they take 36 players because QANTAS is the sponsor and the flights would be free. 4 return business class flights and accommodation/food/transport for 4 blokes for over a month would be enough money to fund an extra EPS spot at every super rugby team.

    End of Year Tour 2012

I terms of the squad (32): Props: Robinson, Slipper, Alexander, Kepu Hookers: Moore, TPN, Hanson Locks: Sharpe, Douglas, Timani, Pyle/Neville 6/8: Palu, Higgers, Samo/Auela/Mowen, Dennis/Jones/AWH Opensides: Pocock, Hooper, Gill Scrumhalf: Sheehan, Prior, Frisby Flyhalf: Beale Centres...
