Orr has played prop for Trinity 13A,14A and 15A teams and then last year in their winning Ist XV. Also for CAS Under 16 team last year (where he played in a few other spots as well as needed!). So plenty of experience in the front row over many years - deserved selection.

Saw 1sts game today. GPS bigger, faster and more skilled. Line speed in defence was superb. If there was an opportunity GPS took it sharply both in close and out wide. CAS lineout was marred by inconsistent throws (GPS threw a few crooked ones too). Scrums ok for both. Worse goalkicking than the...

CAS 2nds 38-12 CHS 2nds and 1sts CAS 28-0 CHS Imagine what the scores would have been if the selectors hadn't made so many mistakes!!!

The best lineout so far has been Cranbrook - won every one on their own throw against Aloys, (even with Harry Williams best efforts) and have been secure in every other game - consistent and accurate throwing all season from the Cranbrook hooker to some good jumpers.

St Augustine's continue their outstanding run. Scots are supposed to be challenging for the GPS title again and have a huge number of GPS, JGS rep players who are skilled, hard players so I don't understand this result at all. How did Horwitz, Stewart and Kellaway go against their Auggies...

This is reflected in the gap from under 16rugby to colts - Hard to play at club rugby for the last 2 years at school and after school finishes the lads are mature enough for colts. So school football is the only real option (except for real standouts) for age 16-18 and the level of competition...
