Possibly the one called Knox Grammar School. It's in Wahroonga.

Bloody geographically embarrassed again.

Bruce Ross is giving me stick about referring to the rugby stadium at Moore Park (AKA SFS, or Allianz Stadium, previously Aussie Stadium, .....) on another thread as Moore Park, and now this.

I can't even respond with a sarcastic note about Knox College in Melbourne. Google has just told me that this establishment is entitled "The Knox School". I am sure that somewhere in an alternate universe there is a Knox College.

Guilty as charged and Lesson learned.

At least that means that that other CAS school somewhere in South Gosford must be Barker College and not Barker Grammar.:)

Country and NSW Schools only listed 23 selections, so Sydney could only formally present 23 selections. They have also selected Milad. I believe they have a squad of 25, so there is another player not listed as well. don't know who.
Hopefully Jack Conen

Gotta feel a bit sorry for this lad.

Poor bugger has to be absolute stand out star player to get selected, otherwise the old nepotism and bias claims get trotted out by the disgruntled peanut gallery.

IMHO Gus Gutteridge does not attempt to influence others to select his boy.

Others may do so in an attempt to curry favour with him, but pretty sure he does not actively seek it.

As said earlier Angus has to play extra well compared to others who have parents who are less connected to avoid claims of nepotism/favouritism.

Gus is just a normal Dad like the rest of us who are chuffed when one of the kids gets selected for something.

He probably doesnt influence it directly, but other young talented players miss out because he is in the side

What a silly observation - 69 candidates; only 23 selected - of course someone misses out. & in truth, I can't think of any individual in rugby in sydney who would be LESS impressed by some kiss ass.

Haven't seen the Sydney team posted on the juniors web page yet, but there were only two lads listed in the paper from Sylvania, with no Gutteridge in the team.

Some other posters have suggested that the SJRU team has either some extra players in the squad not listed, or maybe these are "shadow players" who train with the squad in case of injury etc. Other Gaggerlanders have suggested that Ferris, and Gutteridge are those "extras".

Until the Official team list has been posted, these extras or shadow players are pure speculation.

Wise to have a couple of extras at this stage.

What is the maximum squad size that can register for the teams at National Championships?

If >22 then pretty sure Schools and Country will have some extras as well,

whatever

My last word on NSW Schools selections' this is the breakdown re: Associations

8 GPS A
1 GPS B
3 GPS (did not play in championships)
5 CHS or 3 CHS with possibly 2 country schools (whether Alstonville High players were in CHS or country )
4 ISA
2 CAS
0 CCC
0 AICES

Fair or not? I think not

Looks fair to me.
GPS (8 selected)A beat CHS(5) in the final.
ISA beat CAS(2) who beat CCC(0) and I don't think AICES beat anyone.
Of course this doesn't account for great players on losing teams. Before anyone says anything - I often think that a player who looks good on a losing side must be really good.

Would accept that if all teams had played each other; and were not required to give all members of each squad some game time.

In other words, if it was a real competition (and the results were as posted) and not a trial game championship.

… … … … …Fair or not?

Correct me if i am wrong but it is my understanding that in the last five years only two lads from NSWCCC have made the NSWSRU U/16 team:

2008 -
2009 - Samisoni Langi
2010 -
2011 - Michael Morgan
2012 -

Langi is currently at the Bulldogs in their Toyota Cup team. Interstingly enough he was the vice-captain of the NSWCCC RL team that won the National Championship in 2011. As a result he was selected in the Australian Schools team. Ironically Morgan too is at Bulldogs (SG Ball) and was also a member of the victorious 2011 NSWCCC RL team.

If my memory serves me correctly I would have to go back to 2006 to discover the next U/16 NSWSRU representative from NSWCCC, that being Liam Gallaher who later went on to play for the Brumbies in their U/20's squad and later the senior squad. I believe he suffered a major knee injury during his time at the Brumbies which ended and almost inevitable 'Super Rugby' career!

I would like to know if I have missed any more U/16 NSWSRU representatives from CCC.

In 2012 IMO I thought Scott Hogan the scrummie would gain selection!

Take a look at the National U16 2012 thread.
and for School attending analysis:
School Assoc # Selected
GPS 26
CHS 16
CCC 9
CAS 6
ISA 5

...snip,,,

Our mate George has reconciled all 3 teams with the Schools attended and association.

CCC Rep team may not have scored too many representatives in NSW Schools, but they have plenty of representatives through the NSW Country and Sydney Juniors pathway.

whatever

Now for a comparison are you able to advise how many players, from this dead-end association that struggles to provide a NSW Schools rep in Rugby, have been selected in the Australian Rugby League Schools U15s and U18s (Opens) in the same period?

we r running out of extra s as Country stick by there rules u must play in the Country Champs to be selected and you must perform on the day. Reputation doesn't have as .much bearing as ability and performance.

Thousands my friend! Thousands! ;)

As already posted 9 of the 13 lads selected in the 2012 U/15 Australian Rugby League team were from NSWCCC, and 5 or 6 last year.

In the opens last year there was about 7 (the 2012 Champs start next week) and in 2010 I believe 4.
