Hear Trinity got a prop from NSW under 16s to add to their outstanding preparation for 2013! Casnovian or Snort can confirm/deny.

A bit slow. Trinity took 6 imports in this year in year 10 to be ready for their celebratory year in 2013.

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2011

Do you know how many boys go to TAS? It is a VERY small school with a great rugby tradition. 4 trys against the all blacks at Eden Park for example! RESPECT

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2011

Joeys, Scots and Kings have some great U16s - who will mature into great players at open level? My money is on Joeys with Deegan directing traffic in his 3rd year of 1st XV in 2013. Next year will be some very interesting.

    Congrats to Trinity.

    CAS Rugby 2011

Barker 20-3 Cranbrook (0-0 half-time) Pretty even game but difference was in the very effective kicking game to put Barker into scoring positions. Barker took their scoring chances and Cranbrook didn't. Some good defensive football played but too many mistakes under pressure by both sides...

No - it is not a well known "fact" at all. Waverley have always just been that way - especially when losing!

    CAS Rugby 2011

The true question to ask is why have Trinity suddenly become such a force? Sure they have some great home grown talent but.....? The answer lies in another forum within the schoolboy thread.

    CAS Rugby 2011

Completely hypocritical statement from an unknown about watching alos kids get hammered yet not living life through others. Which centre of academic excellence produces such an inane comment?

    CAS Rugby 2011

Next years CAS 1st XV I look at the 2nd XV results and bear in mind that Trinity have plenty of under 16s in the current 1st XV and are looking to win in 2013 especially, so Trinity for the next 2 years. I'd predict for 2012 Trinity Knox Waverley Barker St Aloysius Cranbrook But...

    CAS Rugby 2011

Teams play to the level of the competition so Trinity would match up well against most of the GPS teams. Remember Cranbrook put 33 points on Grammar and Joeys only managed 40. Trinity have size, speed, aggression and skill. Tactically they may need to play a little better but they are a good...

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2011

Scots did rest their 3 of their Aussie Schoolboy star players so it was a weakened Scots team and Cranbrook are gutsy but small.

Anyone know who won the battle of the cheque books today between Newington and Trinity?

NSW U16 Trial Games and Selections 2011

Cam Orr was CAS best forward - at flanker or prop, strong and committed all day. Thought Jamo was predictable in a disappointing sluggish CAS 1 side. Jamo shown up by his usual half-back playing at 5/8 ie Whicker in second game who actually got the CAS 1 backline moving rather than trying to do...

Sport vs Academia - School priorites? Thank you but I thought that it was a thread on "school sporting scholarships" and not the pursuit of schoolboy rugby. As such one of the issues with scholarships is the relative importance of sport vs academia vs music etc. So schools make their...

I think that you casually raised the assumption that High and Grammar somehow receive unwarranted sympathy, CTPE, so don't patronise a response to an issue that you raised. A lot of effort has gone into keeping these schools within the rugby community and people will continue to do so. As many...

    School sporting scholarships/recruitment

Sports Success as Effective Marketing? I'm not sure how measurably effective sport is as a marketing tool, given that the hardest schools to get a student place are probably High, Grammar and Shore and the wealthiest school (judging by recent property purchases and capital expenditure) is...

NSW U16 Trial Games and Selections 2011

As we are not yet a republic, surely GPS should be called "Her Majesty's XV". An appropriate victory song springs to mind!

High and Grammar don't seek sympathy. Why would they? Every year they win the competition that really matters - the HSC!! After all, that is why 99.99% of boys go to school - for an education.

The code of practice isn't a joke. It is put there to encourage fairness in school sport and to prevent a distortion of the competition. The application and enforcement of the code is lacking. If the code was enforced then all schools would adhere to it. I don't think that the Melbourne Storm...
