NZ July 2021 Tests (& other matches)

They should have a look at 11 Reece 14 Jordan from the start. They could also look at 11 Rieko but they want to keep him developing as a centre rather than switching him back to wing - plus he could use a week off.

    2nd Test Wallabies v France 8pmTuesday 13th July,

There's nothing wrong with being an effective bench player. An effective bench 9 is very important. Wallaby fans should be excited that Tate's game really seems to suit this role.

NZ July 2021 Tests (& other matches)

Exactly this. Racking up passive tackles doesn't help much. One area the forwards clearly need work is cleaning out at the breakdown - they were both slow and ineffective to clean.

NZ July 2021 Tests (& other matches)

Well that was a lot more interesting than last week - great work Fiji. A bit of a worry that old men Coles and Whitelock had to bail out the ABs forward pack. They need to move on from Frizell and Tuipulotu - they both keep getting chances and don't deliver. Sotutu for now would be better...

NZ July 2021 Tests (& other matches)

Only Bridge and Rieko remain as starters from game 1.

I'd suggest Blackadder will be at 7 before Jacobson.

Winter Tour; Wallabies v France Wednesday 7 July, Brisbane

Good team. Huge opportunity for Valetini to nail the 6 jersey.

NZ July 2021 Tests (& other matches)

A farce of a test. Feel sorry for Tonga. Can't read much into that obviously but midfield went well as did the loosies. Jordan's pace is useful on the wing. On the other wing George Bridge is an absolute battler - everyome else beating players with ease and he's tackling himself, knocking it...

    Olympic 7's

That's a weak NZ team. Way too many plodders. They'll be lucky to medal. Aus def a chance of upsetting them in pool play.

NZ July 2021 Tests (& other matches)

Happy with that team considering who is available and the opposition.

NZ July 2021 Tests (& other matches)

I imagine the crowd will be very small. There can't be much interest in watching second and third string Samoa and Tonga. If either team could field a competitive team then yes absolutely.

    New Zealand Rugby Team Watch

This bloke has mastered the notion of not being able to be dropped whilst injured.

Obvious troll is obvious. Akira was never going to be dropped after how well he played for the ABs last year. He literally showed more in 1 and a quarter tests than Frizell has in 3 seasons for ABs. That's the thing with Frizell - he's had 12 test starts and as of yet has yet to translate...

    New Zealand Rugby Team Watch

Well summed up above. Failures like Bridge and Frizell keep getting selected. Not surprised but it's still annoying. What the hell is Christie doing there - it screams of just picking the 9 from the team that just won a comp. His decision making and speed of service are horrendous. Tupaea, De...

Auckland Blues To Infinity and Beyond

Just like the Blues every 18 years I come good. The word is Gibson is off to the Canes and Ricccitelli is coming up to the Blues. Just quoting these again - feels necessary.

    Super TT final

I'm not disagreeing - i'm just saying they still have to prove it at test level. DMac showed some encouraging signs this season of reducing his error rate. Hopefully that trend continues.

    Super TT final

Yeah exactly - plus I feel there's still some question marks over the AB fullback options - there's plenty of options but no one really has 15 nailed down. Jordie was poor at fullback in Brisbane (but hasn't had that many chances), Jordan hasn't had a test yet at fullback and for all his...

    Super TT final

I understand the reasons for not picking Zarn - I just don't think it's as crazy as it might seem initially.

    Super TT final

They picked Tupou Vaai last year as a bolter and that was a fine pick. Jordie should move to 2nd five and Jordan needs to learn how to tackle. Zarn is going to be an AB eventually anyway so get him in the environment and get him up to speed - playing Tonga and Fiji it's the perfect chance. If...

    Super TT final

Champions. Very pleasing. Great for someone like Gibson to have such a big part to play in what is probably his last Blues game. He's been at the Blues for years and had so many injuries. Credit to Plummer - ice cold when it mattered. Ruru was good too (can't believe i'm typing that). On...
