RWC: AUS v ENG (Twickenham): POOL A; 6am (AEDT) Sunday 4 October

A few thoughts: IMO McCalman should be the backrower on the bench. He's a more rounded player (rucks, hits, tackles, lineouts) than Sean. He's also a lot bigger and having three short backrowers is a liability. I see Sean as a like for like replacement for Hooper, so if Hooper were to go down...

It adds to the overall numbers in viewership for the comp, which comes back in revenue down the track in future rights deals. The Japanese team will play in a friendly time slot as well so I see no issue.

    RWC: Australia v Fiji - 23 September 16:45, Millenium Stadium(24 September 1:45 AEST)

Yes they do, but my point is that we shouldn't have expected anything from them considering the context of our next game and what happened in this game. Re the scrum it may have just been a dominant push I just woke up again and cannot remember.

    RWC: Australia v Fiji - 23 September 16:45, Millenium Stadium(24 September 1:45 AEST)

Pocock, Hooper and Fardy (in that order) took this game into their own hands which ultimately got us the win. As a pack our scrum is looking good, our line out and maul good, and breakdown looking good but if you take Pocock out of their than we get the results of the last EOYT. I thought...

How did you come to this conclusion? Holmes won a tight head in his first scrum IIRC. Skelton was very good as you said. Phipps I thought picked up the pace and gave us a rudder to steer with. Slipper didn't have any opportunity just unluckily in the wrong place at the wrong time. To'omua, and...

We will need at least one kicker of high standard in the back three. His defence and his positional play has been excellent so far (always seems to be in the right place for the pass/offload, cleans up other players mess). IMO he's been more than just a clubman, without him I believe we would...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Only in Super Rugby - Cooper tackled at 90.3% in his 362 mins while Foley tackled at 72.5% in his 1360 min. To'omua was at the same percentage for about 750 minutes. Quade made more tackles per min than both of those guys as well. It really rubbishes the idea that Quade has to defend at fullback.

McMahon probably the player of the match so far for us.

That is a fantastic try from the Eagles. 14-8

Congratulations to James and co. In 3-4 years our loosehead position will be absolute world beaters.

Need a specialist Prop as cover just as badly as you need a Hooker. One of the backrowers or wingers realistically should have been Chibba but Groucho's theory is interesting. We will see who is replaced with whom.

My memories of Cornelson running out in the Grammar 1st XV makes me think that the tutoring from Thorn to develop him and the other young blokes is the best Rugby decision the Reds have made in about 3 years.

I thought the backline move was to pass it to the next guy who then passed it to the next guy who then passed it to the next guy who then dropped it.

Bledisloe #2 - AUS v NZL, Eden Park, Auckland, August 15th

That would be at their own risk.

Bledisloe #1 - AUS v NZL, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, August 8th

IMO there's no way Giteau should be anywhere near the 9 spot - in any context. His passes were terrible from the base of the ruck. He couldn't hit the chest and they were much loopier with more hang time than any of the 9s running around Super Rugby.
