    Brumbies 2016

Yes but this is probably the worst yet of these new jerseys.

    Brumbies 2016

A minimalist, tight, form fitting jersey is better suited to the AFL where the maximum body fat on any given player is 10%. In rugby, where we pack down a different body fat percentage in order to best balance impact with endurance to suit our game, jerseys like that just look ridiculous.

The original point being made is that the pick and go is missing from the strategy and adding it occasionally would be a good move in terms of variety and keeping them guessing. Not that we should pick and go at the All Blacks best players every time as our only means of go forward. What's...

    Aussie Player Exodus

If Pocock stays injury free you'd have to think that the next time his contract comes around the ARU and Brumbies would be giving him double the 450k said French team would, at least.

Mate when you start selling short the importance of set piece you're playing with fire. Scrum is meat, line out is potatoes (think that's the right order), everything else is gravy.

Similar to my post above, who could possibly step in and be better than McCalman at test level as an 8 man right now. I understand that he's not as good as Reid but he can ruck well, tackle well, run reasonably well and compete in the line out. No one else in Australian Rugby who plays 8 can...

I think they're saying that he is not a world class ten, irrespective of his kicking, not that he is a bad player. The reality is that we don't really have anyone better that can organise a back line, so persevere we must.

    Reds 2016

dru, I think the most important thing will be to take pleasure in the little things. The scrum should hold up as one of the strongest again, the lineout hopefully will as well. With Thorn as development coach we might just see a pack with real grit - which we need (Douglas could compete with...

Wouldn't count Lilo out at 10/12 in the future either. Kuridrani's best form was when he was paired with a creative (mercurial) distributor at 10. He never really created a whole lot of opportunities but was an excellent finisher at test level from memory. I think this may be why his form...

We can't select those players so what's the point bringing them up? Retallick, Whitelock and Etsebeth are some of the worlds best players. Who can perform the core duties of a Lock better than our current stock of Simmons and Douglas in Australia? It's not worth sacrificing the engine room...

Simmons, Douglas, and Neville are all in good hands with Brad Thorn. Second Row is the shit kicker position. Lots of hard work and not a lot of recognition because if you're doing your job well you can't be seen under the mountain of bodies that are doing whatever other rugby players do.

    Reds 2016

My worry is that whoever gets chosen first won't have the coaching or the team structure around him to really be effective and a lot of the blame for not bringing the Reds up the ladder immediately will be heaped on them by punters. It doesn't surprise me that the Reds might be in the market...

RWC 2015 Semi Final 2 - Australia v Argentina Twickenham, Monday 19 October, 2:45 AEDT

It's fucked that Slipper has 72 test caps already. 11 more than Kepu, 8 more than Pocock and 13 more than TPN.

RWC 2015 Semi Final 2 - Australia v Argentina Twickenham, Monday 19 October, 2:45 AEDT

The difference between Sio and Slipper at the moment is strength in the shoulder. That didn't help Sio on the weekend when he was out-experienced and hence out-played in the dark arts. Slipper IMO is of approximately equal scrum ability right now (injured) and against Argentina his extra...

I did not know this Strewth. And also thank you Alex for post #345. It seems Australia was robbed. Robbed of the opportunity to avoid a mountain of people on social media having a cry.

The NZ/SA Rivalry, how fierce is it?

NZ fans will claim that the rivalry with whichever team has the greatest likelihood of beating them is the fiercest. The idea that they love these encounters must surely be because they have been tested the most but still came out on top almost always in recent years. You only have to look at...

You don't know any but they still did. I've sat in the stands were Aus supporters booed him. Matt Rowley even had a laugh on a podcast back in 2013 (I think) when they booed him in Sydney.

RWC 2015 Semi Final 2 - Australia v Argentina Twickenham, Monday 19 October, 2:45 AEDT

Yes, when he came on the scrum stabilised. His experience would have helped earlier in the game. He was dropped because of his shoulder but I think the limited minutes he's been getting will have helped that. Certainly we've maintained our dominance in each game when we've changed from Sio to...
