Pumas vs Wallabies, 25th July 2015, Mendoza

Cheika looks to be doing a very good job of trying out different players without compromising the team's chances of winning from week to week. I also like it that he seems to be maintaining healthy internal competition. Re Skelton in the scrums. For some posters, if Holmes struggles it will be...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Hopefully, we'll get a chance to see a few of these potential combinations in the RC, because Chieka needs to try things out (finding the best combination and being prepared for situations where the first choice isn't an option), and the work load needs to be shared so we have a fit and fresh...

    Force v Tahs, round 9 2014

Whilst it was no fun losing, I like the tenacity of the Force (and have always loved the Honey Badger's work). It is great to see the Force and the Rebels playing well, and to see 3 Aussie teams in the top 6. The Waratahs had a lot of possession, but lacked patience and accuracy. It was...

    Sharks v Tahs, round 7 2014

Too quick for me there Braveheart. 32-10 As good as the Waratah intensity and aggressive defence were, they are not enough to compensate for the poor set piece, kicking, and ball security. I was very disappointed with Dennis' push (not even the level of handbags) on BDP. The captain can...

    Sharks v Tahs, round 7 2014

I really hope Cheika doesn't come out after this pasting (as it looks we'll be getting at 19-3 down) and bitch about anything but the performance of the Waratahs

    Sharks v Tahs, round 7 2014

Did I mention handling errors and discipline?

    Sharks v Tahs, round 7 2014

Dropped ball, attackers isolated too easily, poor kicking out of hand and place kicking. Scrum and lineout shaky. Very strong defence. Yes, it looks like the goal kicking will cost us in the end

    Waratahs vs Reds - R3 2014

For the Reds, I thought Toua always looked dangerous (so quick), Cooper was very composed considering what he had to work with, Gill put in a lot of work, as did Horwill (to a lesser extent). Turner was pretty strong ball in hand. Having said that, none of them were near their best.

    Waratahs 2014

I have read this Beale - Folau, who plays where discussion with interest. As with all similar discussions, it is difficult to know what is being compared. Beale at his best, Beale at his worst, Beale's potential, Folau's potential.... For the purposes of this post, I am assuming all mentioned...

If you could change the laws of rugby, what would you change?

Accidental off side. If a player bumps into a player in front of them from their own team, play on if the attacking teams gets no advantage from the collision.

New Zealand vs Australia - Bledisloe 2, 24th August 2013

Making the gain line and tieing up defenders is an area that we struggled with a little - or was it because we were too keen to shovel the ball from side to side without much guile? The addition of Cummins (Mogg out, Folau to 15) would help, but I'd like to see someone in 4-8 jersey doing the...

Where did we go wrong? Wallaby Recovery thread.

You forgot to add "fucktard", but I guess it can be assumed.

Where did we go wrong? Wallaby Recovery thread.

@ p.tah - Bring in another Waratah?! Too many Waratahs in the team was what was dragging the Wallabies down under Deans. Once McKenzie gets rid of the last 3, the recovery will be truely underway.

    Beale to Tahs, where?

You are right fatprop, but may I direct you to your own signature for some pearls of wisdom from a guy with some success in his field, and a track record for dealing with spoilt talented yound sportmen. Sometimes for the benefit of the team you have to cut them loose. I hope that in this case...

Where to for quality Rugby journalism???

The article does summarise the Wallaby Amigo problems raised on the boards here, but not the depth of anger and frustration so many of us (pretty much all Wallaby supporters I'd guess) felt watching it unfold. It still makes me sick to read things like 'we can't win without player X or Y' -...

    Beale to Tahs, where?

Bench. Then with consistently good work in training and from the bench, or in the event of injuries, he comes into the starting side. Beale is such a good player that under the right circumstances I could see him at 10, 12 or 15, but not at the expense of guys who have been doing great...

Where to for quality Rugby journalism???

Words attribuuted to John O'Neill in that article put him in a very positive light. Well said. Of course, his part in the hiring and retention of Robbie Deans, and in the various contract negotiations with "Amigos" would tend to undermine his work in my mind.

    S18 on its way

Wimpie van der Walt - love that name! I'm sorry, but it wouldn't Super rugby without the South Africans featuring throughout the season against our teams - the commentators, the cheer girls, the in your face style, the names!
