Does that sound at all reasonable for a RWC campaign?
  2. Joe Blow

    Wallabies 2023

Jones is vindictive and reactive. We have seen it with Wright and now with Cooper, not to mention with multiple headsets already this year. Notwithstanding that White could easily have been blamed for QCs dropped ball and that there are others who have had average games or made a similar mistake...

Who is taking Coopers? Normally there would be two established 10s and a utility like Hodge. Donaldson has not played a test all year and will be thrust into every 23 in the RWC if fit. Cooper or Foley or Hodge should be there. Donaldson not so much

    Problem solved

Or over Hodge or Lolesio or Foley or even Wright. It’s madness or he just doesn’t give himself a legit chance of doing well in this RWC. I would take Lynagh way before Donaldson, even though he is not quite ready. Edmed too.

So what? Throw him in to start a semi final against a top side? He can’t even drive the Tahs around at this point. Take an experienced hand for one of your 10s. You have to.

So, we are going to take two 10s. One untested at this level but shaky at best in Super Rugby. The other does not kick goals for his club and has also been inconsistent in just about everything in his few tests. No other options at 10. EJ (Eddie Jones) is either mad or a mad genius. Which is it?

All the teams who win the RWC have a solid core of very experienced players. You cannot win it with raw young talent alone.

Talaki is a good call. He is solid in the scrum and does his core duties. He is also busy around the park on both sides of the ball.

Tom Lynagh will be our next long term 10. He has his old man’s skill set and rugby brain. It is just a matter of time. Carter will battle him for the jersey but the class is plain for all to see.

Get rid of Donaldson and include Hodge and I reckon thats it. Maybe Perese or Wright in as a utility.

    Bledisloe 2 2023 @ Dunedin 12:35PM Sat 5 Aug

Skelton has been pretty good, but not as busy as Philip or Swain would be IMHO. He has special skills and is a big lump so no doubt he goes. I wouldn’t mind getting a look at the other two.

    Bledisloe 2 2023 @ Dunedin 12:35PM Sat 5 Aug

You all know that I like Uelese and that I see something there. Eddie obviously does as well. I think he has been better each game. Most likely EJ (Eddie Jones) is flogging him to get him fit. Fitness is the key for him. I am surprised he was picked but am hopeful that Jones can pull out of him what I and...

He’s had very few, many less than Wright. Hodge is a good person to have in the squad covering every position in the backs except for 9. I also would have him ahead of Donaldson.

    Wallabies 2023

There is no point complaining about EJ (Eddie Jones). He is there to stay for now. Despite the big scoreline I thought we saw the bones of what he is trying to do on the weekend. If they continue to improve we may go alright at the RWC, favourable draw and all. AAA is a big loss and it means that Taniela...

Better for Petaia to be at 13 than Perese for this reason among others.

Gordon in for Quade? If it goes pair shaped then QC (Quade Cooper) and White are on the bench. I reckon he will go well BTW. I like it. Hope Petaia and Kerevi go well. Good to see Kellaway back. We may lack a little speed in the pigs?

I know Frost has the dynamism but I would include Swain as well.

    Wallabies 2023

The other area we are lacking is in the second row. Arnold and Skelton are great. Big strong technicians but we lack dynamism at lock. I would have been looking at Darcy Swain again. There is something just a bit different about his game(besides the obvious flaw). He is a bit faster and more...
