    Waratahs 2023

Beale was playing 12 most of the time in France recently, as I understand.

But Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase) is better in the air.

I'm going to be nervous checking my news feed the next couple of mornings, waiting to see who else drops out after a training run...

    Wallabies 2023

On Stan, Morgan Turinui seemed to suggest they'd realised there were problems on the S&C front, and were bringing in new people next season.

Only if the game hasn't been won in the first 50 minutes. I sometimes dream of times when the Wallabies could stamp their authority on a game over that first half, so that the replacements don't have to turn the game around and win it.

White out, so it'll be Gordon AND McDermott.

Wallabies v Ireland, Sun 20th Nov 7am AEDT

Rennie said Skelton had a calf issue (how many calf issues is that in total for the team?!), but is OK to go - obviously not 100% though.

Wallabies v Ireland, Sun 20th Nov 7am AEDT

It's a great analysis. But why are they doing it? Surely it's not just a lack of trust in the 10? Foley, Lolesio, and JOC (James O'Connor) have all shown themselves to at least be capable of running set plays, and plenty more when the opportunity arises. Why sideline them completely? I thought Weismantel was...

    Refereeing decisions

If we reduce the use of the TMO to check foul play in-game, then it has to be paired with a more effective judiciary process. The current judiciary process (or processes, across the world and in different competitions) is ridiculously inconsistent. It's not fair on referees to expect them to...

Wallabies v France, Paris, Sun 6th Nov 7am AEDT

I agree, and he's mentioned in the press that Rennie had been focusing on this tour, more than last year, to define his role in the Wallabies. He needs as much time as possible to do that.

So, more concussions for tacklers as they dip their heads into traffic? Keen to see how it goes.

Wallabies to just STFU when it comes to the ref. Captain to politely ask once for clarification of decisions if unclear, then "yes sir" and nothing else.

    Waratahs 2023

The overall business environment is obviously pretty tight at the moment, but you'd have to think the Tahs have timed this deal well, with team performance improving, some buzz around young players as well as returning veterans, new stadium, etc.

And Swinton's! Given recent events in netball and cricket, I can't see any reason for players to challenge the ethics of the new sponsor, which you'd have to rate as a positive. Maybe they'll be handing out some free product - can't wait to get my hands on that economic research!

    Wallabies 2023

Yep. All the names suggested above are good coaches, but how about we place them in roles to develop the upcoming generation, roles with the Super franchises, underage rep teams, overall co-ordination for someone like Nucifora, and invest there. By 2027, we might be starting to see the benefits...

Australia A v Japan XV matches

Yeah. The Reds are in the awkward position of having two guys in their backline who need consistent minutes to develop and realise their potential. Filling one position like that might be manageable over a season, having two puts a lot of pressure on the team.

    Wallabies 2023

I can't see any way that Rennie gets sacked at this point. We're less than 12 months from the RWC, there's no obvious replacement - McKellar is obviously the understudy but no reason to think he'd miraculously turn things around overnight - and Rennie's results are right in line with the...

Australia A v Japan XV matches

Agreed. Great to see some of their high-speed play again, reminiscent of the 2019 RWC. Great for global rugby. Actually, a great series overall.

    Wallabies 2023

The Saffers are mostly recalling players who spent plenty of time playing together at home before they went overseas. It'll be interesting to see if that performance is sustained as those players drop out, and they start to select ex-pats who've never played together.

Interesting article by Nick Bishop on The Roar about how the English Premiership has significantly increased ball-in-play time: https://www.theroar.com.au/2022/10/12/analyis-why-ball-in-play-time-is-higher-in-north-than-down-under-and-how-thats-helped-LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto)-get-back-into-test-contention/
