I would love to see a 16 team comp with an 8 team finals series (works well in 2 other sports). 8 NZ, 5 from Aust plus MP (Moana Pasifika), Drua and 1 from Japan (or a minor variation on this). However I would drop Japan if the travel is too much.

My understanding is that the 5 teams plus 1 (perhaps the Drua) will play a 6 team tournament after Super Rugby but without their Wallaby players. I am not sure if it will be called the NRC. I believe I put this in another thread and I think the forum thought I was making it up.

I have heard that there is going to be a 6 team "nrc-like" tournament this year with the 5 franchises plus 1 more (perhaps the Drua). The Wallaby players wouldn't be available, so there will be a chance to see wider squad members blooded at this level.

I believe Jamie Clark is a prop. I think Ed Arnott is a 13/outside back from the Kings School. I thought Poolman was more of a 12 than a 10.

Intent is often hard to judge and very subjective. I believe you would see a lot of referee inconsistency for intent judgments.
