    Wallabies 2020

I wrote an article about it, but the 'we never do any homework' thing was also a huge factor, IMO. In a long domestic season that approach makes a degree of sense. You are probably better off focussing on your own game rather than trying to change things up every week for 20 weeks. Opposition...

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

As much as we potted the selectors for it, there is an argument to suggest their changes at 10 were entirely rational, IF you assume Lealiifano was struggling as badly as we were told after the Fiji game. The changes at 9 made far less sense, though. .

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Plus we've played a number of Tests in Japan over the years. Far more than in the Pacific Islands! There's definitely scope for another look at the Rugby Championship, at very least to see if Japanese involvement would drive up TV revenue. .

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I'll give every poster on here $100 if Japan are admitted into the Six Nations.

Halves was partly self-inflicted - playing six different combos in six straight tests. And really the winger issue didn't make a jot of difference to our fate overall.

    Wallabies 2019 Thread

I think that's a bit of a cop out. In previous seasons, there's certainly an argument we didn't have the cattle. But this year? i can't buy that excuse. Literally no injuries, depth in the pack, skill at set piece, it was all there. Maybe not 'win the World Cup' level of cattle, but...

    Wallabies 2020

I mean, Kurtley murdering someone off the field was bad enough, but to do it ON the field? Now that is something we shouldn't have tolerated. And yet here we are. He's got a nice burst of pace though, you have to admit. .

I think it's best to approach the coach search with an idea of the skills/background we want, and find someone who best fits. I'd love someone with international head coach experience (something we haven't had in a coach since I think Bob Dwyer in his second stint). I'd like someone with a...

And I just think after the Cheika era we need a steady hand on the wheel. I don't think Eddie is that man. .

    Refereeing decisions

I'd give Garces the NZ/Eng game, and Barnes the Wales/SA game. They are the two best refs at the moment, and the better of them can ref the final (if England lose).

Well we've just had a Super Rugby winning ex-Randwick coach fond of mind games, and that didn't go great. So rolling straight into another one....... I don't know. From what I read of Rennie I reckon he's our man. The kiwis rate him too, which helps. .

Cheika had plenty of odd selections over the years, but weirdly enough I thought the 23 in the England game was the right one. Petaia was a genuinely good selection, and I thought Beale played well too. The Pooper did well at the breakdown, the only one he probably got wrong was Genia over...

    Wallabies 2020

I think it's a bit silly. Saying 'he's not a 7' and then putting him at 12? He's the guy you build the team around at 7 and skipper. The bloke is a gun.

RWC 2019 1/4 Final England vs Australia

That's dangerously close to a smart tactical decision. Very un-Australian.

    Refereeing decisions

I wanted Garces and Skeen to be so much worse than they were. I wanted something to shake my fist at after our loss. A scapegoat who can't fight back. But Garces turned in the best damn performance of the tournament, the froggy bastard. .

It wouldn't shock me to see Hodge given some time at 10 again in the next 12 months or so, and kicking is a big part of that. His boot is so much better than anyone else here.

    Wallabies 2020

I'm genuinely optimistic about the future of this team. Mainly because of our forwards. Our prop stocks have never been better - Sio and AAA are now in the discussion for our best ever props, Taniela is a gun, and we've got arguably three other test standard props in Slipper, HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes) and...

RWC 2019 1/4 Final England vs Australia

Did anyone else notice Hodge taking kick-offs last night? Have we been doing that at the RWC, or was this a first? He was pretty decent, too.

RWC 2019 1/4 Final England vs Australia

It's probably stating the obvious, but it's hard to say how dumb the Petaia selection may or may not be until Saturday. It MAY be a genius selection in the Larkham-to-10 mould, or it could be the last desperate gasp of a team that has lost its way. All I know is it's a bloody big risk for...

And to make matters worse, we've got Ben Skeen too.
