Not much point picking Gordon if you want your team to play with a half back for 80 minutes. Given Eddie is big on discipline and the least penalised teams in the world are currently 1&2 ranked, I'd be imagining EJ (Eddie Jones) is quite concerned. But hey, Gordon can pass alright from the base of the ruck!

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but every time we've had a lock from Queensland captain the Wallabies at a World Cup, we either won it or made the final?

    Wallabies 2023

There's 5 Wallabies matches before the RWC, 4 of which are in the Rugby Championship (which I'd imagine is when clubs have to release players). So, I'd imagine BPA may be getting a call up as Longergan doesn't quite fit the mould that Eddie would want at international level i.e. size + ability...

    Australian Rugby / RA

Perhaps contacting RA's First Nation Committee might be a starting point. Given the strides they've made in the recent years, I'd be surprised if there isn't more behind the scenes we don't see; https://nit.com.au/28-09-2021/2384/rugby-australia-appoints-first-nations-committee-chair

26.4 and 27.3. The squads average age for Eddies 2003 RWC squad and Chieka's 2019 Squad (Eddie's 2019 Squad was 26.7)

LB - to have a selection problem means we need the players to stop getting injured. We'll no doubt have weeks where Vunivalu, Henry, Flook and or Jordan are all out injured based on recent history.

    Reds 2023

Honestly, I think while Dave is sorting out his career, the Reds should be asking him to drive up the M1 to Herston a couple times a week, especially when we prepare against the Kiwi teams. Seems like an absolute waste of Rugby knowledge if he's just sitting down the coast all week long.

"Eddie instinctively understands the Australian way of playing Rugby". Eddie Jones is the anti-christ of this type of Rugby though. Nothing but strict adherence to a game plan and set moves. The only good thing about Eddie being brought in is, he knows how to plan and prepare. So hopefully...

Because there's a link between CTE and suicide/suicide ideation. Vickerman and Tune (I didn't follow Sean's career closely enough to comment) both had major concussions during their careers. Hell, more recently Paul Green killed himself and during his career he was known for playing on after...

What a weird thing to say. Imagine if the western world cottoned onto this earlier. The Vickerman kids may have spent Christmas with their dad. I'm sure Sean Wainuis family didn't miss him either. Steve Thomson doesn't need to remember the 2003 RWC final and was just asking for attention when...

At a professional services firm? No. But, no 60 year old wants to apply to a professional services firm as a shit kicker senior consultant for $70-99k a year.

    Wallabies 2023

Which part? The big 4 professional service firms all had retirement ages for partners (mid 50's) which in recent years has been shelved due to age discrimination cases being brought in. I can personally attest I had a partner crack the shits with this rule, move to one of the 'mid-tiers' and...

Rodha, I think you're getting too caught up about age. What you're describing is a 'Manager' style of Coach i.e. someone who throws an arm around the shoulder of the players. There's plenty of commentary out there describing the players of today need more of this type of 'coach' than what...

Where the hell are you pulling this from? Graeme Henry was 65 when he won the WC with the All Blacks. Looking at other sports, some of the best football managers like Alex Ferguson, Carlo Ancelotti and Aussie Guus Hiddick were/are well in to their 60's and still winning. Many coaches as...

Outside of Hanigan and Leota, who else in the squad can cover both 6 and 4?

Bloody hell, so the next time I get to watch the Wallabies in person is against the Welsh in 2024?

    Wallabies 2023

Nah Reg, it's only a problem when the Reds have too many locks in 2019/20; LSL (Lukhan Salakaia-Loto), Rodda, Hockings and Blyth.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

It'd be nice if the Rugby Pass guys who make the school boy series were given some cash to follow more schools or even the clubs (there was one series about one do the Sydney clubs that escapes me). The Wrexham FC series that follows Ryan Reynolds's and Rob McClearney is top notch from a fan...

    Wallabies 2023

If Bobby V goes down, a back three of Leota, Samu and Hooper is well and truly out of balance. Even putting Gleeson instead of Samu makes it even worse. Wilson should be picked over Samu or Gleeson because he's the closest like for like ie a hard ball runner. Scary to see similar parallels...
