    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Feds banned the broadcast advertising. State governments banned the sponsorship, billboard stuff - the "incidental" marketing.

I'm guessing Schmidt recognises that Lynagh can't start at the moment, so its a matter of balancing the minutes for the guys who will be starting this year, with a longer term play for Lynagh. Donaldson likely starting 10 for one of the Argentina games, and then who knows fo the Bleds

Yeah - I think we need to be realistic where he's at. The performance was a long long way from a starter (not saying he can't do it, just that he didn't on Saturday) He spent most of his time on the field at full back in defense, and in attack spent almost all the time standing behind the ruck...

Not only did Quade have the best pass of any 10 we've had for many years, he also had the best kick. The change in tactics was how much he kicked it

Jack Maddox, 6 seasons for Australian rugby, another Giteau-eligible option should Schmidt want to select him

Sigh, rain, the Australian rugby player's kryptonite. I was feeling optimistic after the Boks named their side

McDermott had a bit of a shocker when he came on the field last week. His pass.was all over the place, and he made several very poor tactical decisions when we had 15 v 13, as well as.that foot in touch debacle. White in to start by default

The Bok's loosehead this week, Wessels, is literally the Bull's reserve hooker. This is the second time he has started at prop in his entire pro rugby career (previous time was against Portugal). The scrums are going to be a fair bit different this week

It's a strange workplace, but it's still these player's workplace. I'd like to hear what Justin Harrison and RUPA have to say about it

I see what you are saying here, but I think it's just a function of how few South Africans are playing in France, at least compared to the options Australia have. I think I'm right in saying that there is no-one in the SA squad (now that Kolhisi has left racing) that played Top 14 finals

Sorry, I meant last month! (and I actually meant in June 2024) https://www.thesouthafrican.com/sport/rugby/springboks/springboks-rassie-erasmus-siya-kolisi-handre-pollard-players-unavailable-full-list/

Sixteen South African players missed the Springbok v Wales test last year in June 2024, including their captain Kolisi due to their club commitments.

They are only not available if RA/Schmidt choose for them not to be. Just about all the players we are talking about would have 5 season of Australian rugby. Eligible under current Giteau law

So why doesn't our national coach select any of these world-class rugby players for the national team?

Who played 5 on the weekend. But spent most of the game in the tram tracks spreading the attack, just like he would if he was wearing 7, but playing as a 6.

Is there anything in Schmidt's system that a good rugby pro wouldn't be able to slot straight in to? Not on evidence so far

And mostly a Japan based player base to deal with, while lots of our key players are in Europe.

Most of the guys we are talking about would be eligible under the Giteau Law? This is just coaches not selecting them isn't it? Because they only get them for a couple of days before each game and then they leave in between games

    Wallabies 2024

That team finished the game with Matt Dunning, Adam Frier and Al Baxter on the field. Fine players, but their presence in the front row against the current team would limit it to 80 points
