    Round 14 : Reds v Force 24 May (Suncorp)

Ryan not only scored three tries but (I think) had another taken off for an infringement earlier in the movement and was on hand for probably another three or four if he had been needed. He certainly looks the goods. However, I wouldn't personally like to see him in the Wallabies against Wales...

    Round 14: Brumbies v Rebels Fri 24th 7.35PM @ GIO STADIUM

Anyone interested in playing skills rather than brain snaps will acknowledge the wide gap between Tom Wright and Andrew Kellaway at fullback so far this game.

Australian Super Rugby Team of the Week 2024

Reg, I see you are among the enlightened fans who claim the number on the back is irrelevant.

Always thought that of Stevenson, Dismal.

Thought Vaia was lucky to stay with a YC. It looked red all day to me. Most impressed with Canham again this game. Putting a bit of mongrel into his game, particularly tackles.

Super Rugby 2024: NZ, Drua & Moana matches

Hurricanes score to make it 26 - 17. MP (Moana Pasifika) kick off and Canes knock it backwards at the receipt. Another Canes player then knocks it forward and a Canes player in an off side position picks it up. In what world should Doleman then order a scrum for the knock on instead of a deliberate offside...

Mmm. Going for the jumper myself.

Is this consistent Slim with your earlier post? "What cash there is on offer comes from two sources: an in-budget fighting fund established by ex-CEO Raelene Castle, and a new emerging Wallabies fund, off-budget, initiated by donors through the Australian Rugby Foundation. Both funds are...

    Super Rugby General Chat

Promising idea Ignito, but I think it'd even be better if the Cup started off during the last rounds of the SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) competition so that those teams at the top might run some early rounds with development type squads and maybe allow some boil-overs to keep the Cup more interesting.

    Australian Rugby / RA

So, it looks like it has been established that some portion of JS's contract comes from a fund set up by Raelene Castle to defend offers coming from NRL clubs for rugby players. If so, it looks like a misuse of those funds trying to lure a League player to Rugby. The whole deal has a real stink...

If this is true Cheese (and I've seen no suggestions it's not other than that RA is picking up some unidentified portion of the cost) then why would RA be trying to get out of a deal that costs them next to nothing?

    Kiss of Death Dismal, KOD.

    Wallabies 2024

I don't think so. He hasn't had much opportunity this year to show his form. Had quite a bit of exposure last year and still didn't make the cut.

    Brumbies 2024

Perhaps not, I'm not sure. Just trying to find a reasonable explanation for the quite large difference in Rob's game, not just this weekend, that was evidenced from the first half to the second.

    Brumbies 2024

Charlie Cale with a high ankle injury from the Waratahs game. According to Larkham he is the only squad member now not available for selection, although I suspect Lachie Lonergan might be out a bit longer. Still, good news for the front row if Slipper, Pollard and Schoupp are all fit to go...

2024 Under 20 Rugby Champs all match discussion thread

Ref was a bit over the shop. Quite telling that after two scrum penalties against us for hingeing, when he decided to have a look at our LH and their TH side the scrum stayed stable and the JWs put on a shove that sent the JABs about 10m backwards. And not only here, but I am always bemused...

Western Force v Fijian Drua Saturday 11 May, 7:55pm WST

True drewpoint, but Canham's body of work has been all season long while Smith has come to some prominence only in the last couple of weeks. I am adamant that Canham's form puts him well in front of Smith atm. EDIT : thanks TSR for the reminder.

Western Force v Fijian Drua Saturday 11 May, 7:55pm WST

TSR I don't really have a beef with your summary of the locks, but I think I'll keep my powder dry on Rodda's return to form right now and wait and see if it continues. But on the matter of Smith, while he has been impressive lately (and I along with many others have included him in my TOTW...

I also thought Gordon outpointed Lonners on the night. Ryan seems to have gone off the boil a bit lately and I wonder if he's carrying some niggles?
