    Shute Shield 2017

I thought the SRU had to raise advertising revenue for the coverage. Didn't know the clubs were involved. Sent from my SM-J110F using Tapatalk

I'd suggest you've jumped to a lot of conclusions with a minimum of supporting evidence, Done That. I'm not sure why the TV had to decide which games to cover for the first 7 rounds in advance of round 1, maybe there are valid logistical reasons. The schedule for the first 7 weeks will cover...

    Shute Shield 2017

Point scorers and correct teams (almost!) now listed on the NSWRU website. All we need now is the player points added again as per previous years. (Click on the > alongside the game scores.)

    Shute Shield 2017

I've been told that all club players are actually contracted to the ARU. Does anyone know if that's correct? Sent from my SM-J110F using Tapatalk

Fair enough --- just hope they do Manly and Norths. Sent from my SM-J110F using Tapatalk

    Shute Shield 2017

Looks like Manly's year to me! (Just trying to apply the kiss-of-death before next week, Dave ;))

    Shute Shield 2017

Hope 7TWO get this idea of giving all the teams some coverage out of their system soon. They're doing Eastwood (3) v West Harbour (10) next week (probably a slaughter) when Manly v Wicks and Southern v Rats are options and then the following week they're doing Easts v Gordon (from Orange, so...

Why do you say that.....Dural's in Australia ;)

The Fusesport ap is the only place I'm aware of that has the scorers. Just another example of the Rugby hierarchy ignoring club rugby IMO.

    Sydney Colts - 2017

The NSWRU website used to show the player points for each round for each team but not this year (it doesn't even show the point scorers). So the player points are not open to external scrutiny any more. Have they got something to hide?

    I believe it's Wicks v Two Blues.

My only addition to the above is a word of praise to the ref, Amy Perrett. Hadn't seen her ref 1st grade before yesterday and I thought it was a very calm and competent performance. Always good when the ref is not the centre of attention as was the case yesterday.

    Shute Shield 2017

Anyone know whether the NSWRU website is eventually going to include the scorers (as well as just the totals) and the player points again this year, as has been the case in previous years? I also notice that the teams are not correct and are all over the place (ie not 1-15) in some cases...

    Shute Shield 2017

I hope you're right Dave, but 3 wins in 21 games across all grades and colts so far this year is not encouraging.

David Begg attended the Wicks v Uni game yesterday. Had a brief chat with him and thanked him for standing up for the SRU and the Shute Shield. He seems to have rugby in his heart --- we need some people like him and Pappy and Simon Poidevin on the ARU instead of these corporate types IMO.

Kurtley Beale is another fast track example. Straight from Joeys to the Tahs -- not sure he'd even played one game at Norths before playing Super rugby. His defence was clearly not up to par and IMO his confidence was severely impacted by being thrown in at the deep end and floundering. I would...
