Wallabies v. Springboks, 18th July 2015, Suncorp, Brisbane

Quick thoughts on the game: -really need to work on our attacking ruck work. Sloppy and ineffective. -we never got out of first gear in the first half. -the scrum in the first half was a mess. Skelton needs to improve his body position quickly if he wants to play in the side this year...

Wallabies v. Springboks, 18th July 2015, Suncorp, Brisbane

o_O not sure about that. They've hardly brought over a second string outfit, like they did in 2011. Arguably its their strongest available side (or close to). I certainly think it's not crucial that the Boks win, but a loss to either side would be a disappointing way to start the season.

Wallabies v. Springboks, 18th July 2015, Suncorp, Brisbane

It is a strong bok lineup, arguably the best available. However the wallabies usually win their first home test of the year, have an impeccable record at suncorp, and our best performances against the boks over the last 6 or 7 years were with quade at 10. The wallabies r slight favourites in my...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I think it's pretty tough to stop a player from leaving if they don't want to stay. If the player's heart's not in it, why would you want them in the squad. Also it tends to reflect poorly on the club if they start holding players over a barrel. If Douglas chucked a Jake White and just...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I dont have a problem with the selectors picking players that are returning from overseas (like Mumm). One of the advantages of the new rules is that it gives overseas players an extra incentive to commit to a Super Rugby team. I'm ok with that. Also not sure if this has been mentioned, but I...

Wallabies v. Springboks, 18th July 2015, Suncorp, Brisbane

the top four props are all pretty decent. i wouldn't be disappointed with whoever Cheika decided to start. I'd be happy for Sio to have a crack at starting, to give him some more experience for later in the year. Holmes I'd probably prefer to see come into the side off the bench. Kepu and...

Wallabies v. Springboks, 18th July 2015, Suncorp, Brisbane

I reckon the plan is for him to come off the bench. On HQ Giteau seemed to suggest that he's still behind To'omua (as he should be)

Wallabies v. Springboks, 18th July 2015, Suncorp, Brisbane

that's a fair point. but looking at the schedule before the world cup, there is a fair bit of time for players to recharge batteries

Wallabies v. Springboks, 18th July 2015, Suncorp, Brisbane

The schedule before the world cup really isn't that intensive. Only 5 games over 9 weeks. I don't know if there's any need for players to be "rested" per se. Players with niggling injuries should perhaps by wrapped in cotton wool, and obviously the current squad depth means there'll be a need to...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I think an in form Douglas would be a handy addition to the wallabies pack, as he provides the size and power that the likes of Jones, Dennis and Mumm lack. But for the time being he's not in form, not healthy and not eligible.

Karmichael Hunt charged with cocaine supply.

excuse my ignorance, but exactly which specific player has Hunt given any solid reliable evidence against? He appears to have walked that very fine line whereby he hasn't actually given any evidence which could lead to a prosecution.

Karmichael Hunt charged with cocaine supply.

ha. i was with you until you let society go to shit. I think regardless of whether drugs are legal or not you need to invest a lot of money in education and health services to reduce and treat drug use. Your squeaky wheel needs to get the grease.

Karmichael Hunt charged with cocaine supply.

To be fair to Hunt, he didn't really rat on any particular teammate. He managed to tip toe around the issue. His statement is basically that there were various other players present but that he cant say for certain which players, if any, were using drugs. Unfortunately for him though (and this...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

The article i read today about JOC (James O'Connor) being put in a special strength and conditions program has me confused as to whether he's still a genuine selection chance.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Cummins is clearly at the end of a long list of wingers. But I'm happy with the decision to bring him into the extended squad. His attitude and commitment should have a positive effect on the squad, even though he'll be defending in the opposing sessions most of the time.

I will add that I'm happy to see Beale listed as a Fullback, and not a 10/12. That's his best position.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I'm coming into this late, so sorry if I'm repeating earlier comments but there are a few selections I disagree with. I hate to play the favouritism card but its probably no coincidence that the most contentious selections in my mind are all waratahs - Mr T, Dennis and Mumm. Not that I don't...
