Bledisloe #1 - AUS v NZL, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, August 8th

Don't know the answer to those questions, because we've only seen us use Pooper on the one occasion. Certainly the return of Simmons will help the line-out and yes I thought Moore had an off game by his standards. We'll know more as time goes on. My gut feeling is that for a team like...

Not sure I'd use the Pooper combo in every game. Looks to give us a important edge at the breakdown and in terms of defence, but certainly hurt our line-out and might also hurt our scrum against the better scrums. It should be horses for courses. I still think against England we may want to...

Agree with all of that. You probably bring Mumm on for Skelton for the final 20 too, to give you 3 decent lineout options for the final quarter

Well Carter faired pretty well in his last game against the All Blacks. Im not sure Horwill is a starter at this stage of his career. He's 40-50 minutes of quality test rugby TOPS. Likewise I don't think Skelton will go the distance. Mumm is still a complete unknown. I re-watched the ARG...

I reckon its game on for Kane Douglas and Sam Carter. My gut tells me at least one of Horwill / Mumm is going to get shown up badly on Saturday, possibly both. I really question whether Horwill can play 80 minutes effectively. He usually has about 25-30 minutes of quality rugby in him these days.

agree. I rewatched the ARG games last week and Slipper was still pretty decent, although I dont think he's playing as well as he did in 2014. I think Sio is having a standout season. I wouldn't mind seeing him start against the All Blacks, but definitely would be playing Slipper somewhere in...

Bledisloe #1 - AUS v NZL, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, August 8th

Read an article this morning with comments from Larkham. By all accounts he's ready to go. I'm not a doctor but if the team medical staff have given him the all clear that's good enough for me. I know a lot of people are talking about the fact that we should be looking ahead to the RWC, but...

Bledisloe #1 - AUS v NZL, ANZ Stadium, Sydney, August 8th

So apparently To'omua is fit for the match. The fact that both Hooper and To'omua are available to play is a major plus for the wallabies. Anything less than a full strength side wont be good enough against the All Blacks. Still not confident but slightly less pessimistic about our chances...

Should The Wallabies be doing a Bumala-y Yuurrama-y?

I think the Haka fits the All Black team culture perfectly. From an outsider's perspective it seems like the Maori culture is strongly ingrained in NZ society, and in rugby in particular given the large percentage of players that are of Maori, or PI, decent. The All Blacks always seem to have at...

Should The Wallabies be doing a Bumala-y Yuurrama-y?

The Haka is one of my favourite parts of test match rugby. I would riot if they banned it.

Well I'd say much depends on how the next two matches go. If the likes of Skelton, Horwill and Mumm get outclassed by the All Blacks, I guarantee Cheika will be looking at Douglas. He clearly rates him.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

...... is decent in Super 15 but has never performed against the All Blacks

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Unfortunately the only options for a starting 6 are:- Fardy Higgers Mumm McCalman Dennis ? Hooper McMahon - Higgers I'm a big fan of, but he was virtually anonymous against the Boks. - McCalman's an option but neither McCalman nor Higgers have spent any time at 6 for the wallabies yet this...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

So with Kane Douglas officially back in the fold, I think the forwards for the world cup are almost a certainty now. Props: Slipper, Sio, Kepu, Holmes, Faulkner Hooker: Moore, TPN, Hanson Locks: Skelton, Simo, Horwill, Douglas Blindside: Fardy, Mumm Openside: Pocock, Hooper No.8: McCalman, Palu

Personally I wouldn't go with Pooper. I actually think impact of bringing a second 7 into the game at around the 50 minute mark seems to be having a positive influence on our second half performance, an area where we have traditionally failed against the kiwis. I like the idea that the workrate...

I'm not sure Mumm is being looked at as a serious lock option. Maybe against the minows, but suspect he's in the same boat as Fardy (probably his understudy). I strongly expect that Douglas and Carter will fight it out for the 4th lock spot in the squad. Douglas appears to be Cheika's preference.
