Wallabies v. Springboks, 18th July 2015, Suncorp, Brisbane

No major complaints with your team, but there is no chance in hell of Hooper not starting in the no.7 jersey, despite the fact that most fans agree he should be on the bench.

Wallabies v. Springboks, 18th July 2015, Suncorp, Brisbane

Is Slipper really that in need of a rest? He'll have had about a month on the side lines by the time this game starts. His schedule from June to the World Cup is:- - 4 weeks off - 2 weeks on - 1 week off - 2 weeks on - 2 weeks off - 1 week on - 2 weeks off WORLD CUP The above schedule is not...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I think the worst thing that Cheika could do coming into the World Cup is disregard the value of set-piece specialists.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

That's my recollection also. he had a bit of a shocker in the first half, mostly because from memory he dropped the ball or got held up off the ground in the tackle on several occasions. It was pure inexperience. It wasn't so much that he was invisible. Physically he looked like he had the...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Seems to be a few people panicking here because of last weekend's losses. I don't think we should be throwing out the bathtub just because of 1 bad game from the tahs. The Highlanders outplayed the tahs, the tahs didn't turn up. That's just rugby. If they replayed the game this weekend, I'd...

How long is PAE out? Read something this morning about Naiyaravoro getting a call up. Not close to test standard yet

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Well the plus side of the Aussie teams going out is that our players will get an extra week of rest. Some of them are in need of some time off, the brumbies players in particular. Not sure why the Tahs didn't turn up last night, but that really was a feature of their 2015 season. They had a...

Maybe Vaea too. a massive game could see him sneak a spot in the squad

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I think Palu gets a bad wrap because when the wallabies' forward pack gets dominated, he's the first one to cop the blame from the fans. The truth is its rarely Palu's fault that we don't front up physically. I think people just expect him to make more of a difference.

JM's presumably picking his World Cup 23. Not out of the question that Cooper will be starting by then.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

This would be my main complaint. He's so far down the TH pecking order it's not funny. Shouldn't even really be in the extended squad IMO. Has neither the reputation nor the form.

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

You make some good points BH. I agree that on form Beale and JOC (James O'Connor) would probably make the extended squad but not the final 31. But form is only part of the equation. Both players have had long test careers, having played in huge games. Both have on occasion been central to some of our biggest...

    Really? who are the tahs?

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

The issue with Beale for mine is not that he's a bad player per se (he's clearly very talented), but more so whether he is a better option than the other players in contention. I think most people would agree he is not a test 12. You only have to look at his stats this season (most turnovers...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Agree. I think Skelton's inclusion in the pack makes a big difference for the Wallabies. One of the big reasons Palu has for a long time been the obvious first choice when fit is because the wallabies pack otherwise generally lacks any big physical ball runners. He's rarely been everything we...

    Wallabies at the SFS 2016

Really looking forward to this series. I'll definitely be grabbing some front row tickets to Suncorp

    What?! no Ballymore?!...opportunity missed

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

This is a fair point. If you look at the public opinion on this forum you'd say that the tight 5 is fairly unanimous, but we still don't know what Cheika has planned. I think the fact that Cheika has really invested a hell of a lot of time into developing Skelton this season as an 80 minute lock...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I think Latu has been good, but I'd say your probably unconsciously favouring your Tah player a bit. No doubt he's had a good season and looks like a potential future wallaby. However he's been playing in a fairly dominant pack and has been reaping the benefits without completely standing out...

    Stormers v Brumbies Qualifier

No Vermeulen is a pretty harsh blow, but they look to have a strong Backrow nonetheless. Hard to see many tries in this game. The Brumbies have more attacking weapons, so they are probably the more likely to find linebreaks. I suspect it will come down to penalties in the end. That's probably...
