All Blacks & All Blacks XV EOYT 2024

I'd disagree that Hoskins had much of a shot. He's started 7 Tests, 4 of which were against Fiji, USA, Italy & Japan. All Blacks won all of them and he played pretty well

All Blacks & All Blacks XV EOYT 2024

The biggest difference is Sititi came into a deeply flawed back row with 3 opensides and no damaging ball carriers so his point of difference became so obvious Akira has all the talent in the world and none of the drive. Dalton tries hard but just isn't good enough IMO & Hoskins never really...

Don't agree with this. If the only way a coach can be successful is to have great players, how do we know someone is actually a good coach? The best coaches make teams better than the sum of their parts. Guys like Ian Foster & Pieter De Villiers have proven even bang average coaches can have...

    Wallabies 2024

This is exactly what I'm talking about. He's a highly experienced coach making a lot of money working in elite sport, treating him like some poor child is being disrespectful to his coaching ability

    Wallabies 2024

No, but mindset and expectations (both inside and outside) do play a factor in a team building a better & winning culture These guys are humans, they read the papers and watch tv like anyone else. To act like outside expectations don’t affect players is naive

    Wallabies 2024

Totally disagree. Fan expectation has a huge subconscious impact on players He took Ireland from 9th to 1st, so why should we instantly lower our expectations?

    Wallabies 2024

No, but certainly time for him to start showing something and for there to be just a tad of expectation around him

    Wallabies 2024

There is always a choice. If people keep telling these players that it's ok to lose, how could we ever accept anything different out of them

    Australian Rugby / RA

This isn't true though. The contracts are insured and the get paid out if any injuries happen while on international duty

Why people think England is better than Scotland? Schmidt has had enough time now to expect he can improve this team to the point that they can be ultra competitive against England & Scotland. Unless we are gonna do the same thing we did with Rennie and just constantly accept losing with a smile

That’s great, but they could do all that while moving the comps start and end date a couple of weeks, right? The fact you seem to think because they throw money around it should mean they shouldn’t even try to find a middle ground speaks volumes as far as I’m concerned Stop acting like these...

Success is 3 out of 4, pass mark is 2 out of 4 Wales is a must win, both England & Scotland are winnable. Ireland will be a tall task

That’s the whole point I’m making! How is a competition that doesn’t allow players to play international rugby, helping international rugby? And for reference, the World Cup Squad had 7 French based players and 19 super rugby players
  14. Tomthumb

    Australian Rugby / RA

Only 2 players in Fiji's most recent 30 man squad play in France. 24 play Super Rugby

    Australian Rugby / RA

What does this have to do with them being unwilling to move the competition 2 weeks to accommodate Test Rugby? They actively discourage players from playing test rugby. Primary driver my ass And by your logic the world should envy Super rugby due to the Drua and Jaguars?
  16. Tomthumb

    Australian Rugby / RA

Yeah but the fact there is zero public resistance from the union or players like Dupont to this nonsense makes them complicit IMO They are big tough guys when it comes to criticism of World Rugby, cowards when it comes to the clubs. They’re a joke
  17. Tomthumb

    Australian Rugby / RA

Surely they can move the top 14 schedule a couple of weeks? The fact they won’t even entertain these things is more proof French rugby doesn’t give a monkeys about World Rugby and why we should take their opinions and do the exact opposite
  18. Tomthumb

    Australian Rugby / RA

Whether or not it is an issue financially, it’s certainly an issue from a sporting and integrity perspective The fact a guy like Dupont has never played in the Southern Hemisphere isn’t good for world rugby

He'd be better than 2023 Kerevi

They only seem to want to pick a 2nd string National team anyway, so not sure why it bothers them
