France v Australia, Saturday 19 November

You might not think it is a B side but Cheika certainly considers the front row and two of the back three plus 10 and 12 his B side. In fact surely Morahan is his third choice 15 at best. I'm worried about the scrum, lineout and continuity of the backline.

France v Australia, Saturday 19 November

We will win this only if France play poorly. I would have given Moore, Hooper, Foley and Folau a rest only. Back row of Mumm (or Fardy), Timani and Pocock. Cooper to 10, DHP to 15 and Morahan to wing. The likes of Hodge, Timani and Arnold need as much time as possible at international level...

France v Australia, Saturday 19 November

None have played there in a test and none play there normally. Still think it is a weakness going into a test with 4 wingers. Balanced isn't what you'd call this team.

France v Australia, Saturday 19 November

Of course if Kurindrani gets injured I think we are stuffed. Going into a game with 4 wings is a big risk. Would have preferred to see Hodge on the bench.

France v Australia, Saturday 19 November

I like most of the side but am worried about the back three. I think France will try to exploit their lack of kicking ability as well as of course our scrum. Something that does interest me is if Morahan gets injured we might see Foley at fullback. Imagine a Cooper wide pass to Foley running...

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

I don't think Foley is thought of poorly, just that he has some weaknesses that can be a problem in certain games. But he isn't the only one in the Wallabies. As an aside DHP strikes me as a more natural 12 than Hodge, and could take a lot of pressure off Foley's kicking. Also Hodges play at...

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

A few observations: Foley lacked the ability to organise the team and change the game up when needed. Last week he was great but I suspect it was the exception. We need to see if Cooper offers anything better. Kuridrani should not be commended too much for that try. He very nearly butchered...

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

I agree, Slipper has done nothing to warrant a spot. Scrum always seems weaker when he is involved.

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

Cheika's favourites. Skelton is back again after doing nothing to suggest he deserves a spot in the squad let alone the 23.

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

For Scotland I like the idea of: Tight Five - the same Loosies - Fardy, Pocock, Timani Halves - Genia, Cooper Backs - same The impact that Foley, Phipps and Hooper could have on a tiring defense could be immense.

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

It was a bit of a joke really. Up by more than 20, losing shape, why wouldn't he throw the guy in that he considered his best 10 only two games ago? Same thing against the ABs but in reverse. Down by 15 odd, but still doesn't bring in someone that might be able to make something happen until...

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

Yes of course but this tour is a marathon and not a sprint. Not everyone is going to make it out the other end so some key rotations are going to be critical. Foley was poor vs England so we need to see what point of difference Cooper can bring. He was trusted against the All Blacks, Boks and...

    Scotland v Australia 12Nov16 Saturday

Is that the side that played vs Wales or a different one? Two games ago Cooper was considered better than Foley but was dropped for no real reason (can't have been Foley's goal kicking!). Mumm was the preferred 6. Timani wasn't in the side. We can make 3-4 changes to the starting lineup with...

    Wallaby Coaching Staff

I think in particular the Wallabies props don't do as much work as their AB counterparts. The 7/8 are normally fine and now the locks are picking up. Mumm is mentally lazy as seen in the London game.

    Wallaby Coaching Staff

Well I agree with respect to Cheika. Most of the great coaches are certainly much better at controlling themselves - at least in public. However with respect to the players there is plenty of niggle coming from the likes of Coles, Franks and Retallic so not sure if your logic follows there.

New Zealand v Wallabies, Eden Park, Sat 22nd October

I've been saying it since the second England game - clearly DHP is a better clearing kicker but for some reason our coach can't see that. It really isn't that hard to come up with a tactic where your winger (who plays fullback most of the time) can provide your clearing kicks. I'm not sure why...

New Zealand v Wallabies, Eden Park, Sat 22nd October

So Foley gets picked over the better performing Cooper. Has a good running game but average kicking game and can only lead the team to one try in 75 minutes then Cheika's move is to put Cooper on with 5 to go. Apart from him acting like a pork chop on numerous occasions his dubious selections...

Bledisloe 2 - Wallabies vs All Blacks, Wellington, 27 August 2016

I focussed on Pocock for a 5 minute stretch of the game. When we were in defence he was being held back consistently at each ruck by the All Blacks. There was a period of 3-4 rucks where it happened every time. The ABs cheated him out of the game - I can't believe how much restraint he has not...

Brumbies vs Reds, Friday 1st of July, GIO Stadium Canberra

Agree with all of this - particularly the difference between the teams being 9-10-12. It shows what some good decision making and field position can do towards winning and dare I say it something that was sorely missing from the Wallabies (in either performance, tactics or both). The one...
