Caxton. Well it used to be anyway. Happy to be overruled by a local

I assume that’s code for tackle bag holder. In fairness it’s likely more for the opposed sessions, which are probably kinda important.

    Waratahs 2025

I don't know about the 'for sure' bit but you could certainly mount a case for him.

    Waratahs 2025

I agree, I'd try and keep him there. Wouldn't surprise me if he ends up elsewhere is all I'm saying. I would have said the same thing about SBW when he was 18 and been proven very wrong.

    Australian Rugby / RA

That's a bit simplistic, there are 35 I think in each squad, so that equates to 140, plus some spots will be filled with overseas based players. Also factoring in some developing players not in the main squads, it's probably more like 40%. Our pro players don't get enough footy as it is, this...

    Waratahs 2025

In the Sydney GPS system? Probably either Angus Grover (halfback, riverview) or Toby Brial (8/lock, scots). Don't know about Grover but I assume Brial will stick with rugby. Another standout would be Makasini from Newington, I think he was signed with an NRL club early. Going forward, Isaac...

    Waratahs 2025

He's made the Australian U18s squad. My son has been playing in the same age group all through school, often against him so I have watched a fair bit of him. You wouldn't say he's the best player in the GPS system but he makes an impact. I actually wouldn't be surprised if he ends up in the...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

You were quick, I deleted my post almost straight away as I realised Ignoto was referring to the afternoon game v SA. Anyway, I was going to reframe it pointing out the above, but also that the game v SA was a bit of an anomaly and scheduled to avoid a clash with a fairly intense program at the...

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

I realise this, the reason we are where we are is the one in 70 year double point loss to Fiji at the RWC. To their credit Fiji thumped Eddie's Japan without their NH based stars, but I think that was more to do with the opposition. Argentina have proven they are pretty good by beating all 3...

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

I am not going to lose sleep over a net 1.66 pt slip in the rankings that was due to losing to the All Blacks by 3 pts and Fiji thumping Eddie's Japan. I've said elsewhere that the rankings don't resemble reality until the NH teams are actually playing, if we are still at #10 after the spring...

    League Targets

No. Several highlight reels of him when he was at joeys, tried league for a year but it didn’t work out.

    Wallabies 2024

I didn’t say irrelevant, I said not particularly relevant. I doubt Ireland are holding a ticker tape parade to celebrate the event. Shorthand version, South Africa are better than Ireland and we are better than both Italy and Fiji, and i will leave the verdict on Scotland and Wales until we...

    Wallabies 2024

It does, the point is Ireland moving to #1 is academic if they didn’t actually play anyone to deserve that rating. Similarly Italy overtaking us when we were within a bees dick of beating the All Blacks. I wasnt saying it favours any hemisphere, only that the movements aren’t particularly...

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

Can someone with a better eye than me explain the improvement in defence? The first 20 minutes had Fisher looking for another job on here but it was barely mentioned thereafter. Did the players adapt to the system, or did we revert to a different system? No doubt the dudes on the Roar will...

I think burgess would have been good if given more time and positionally managed properly

    Wallabies 2024

Rankings pretty meaningless at this time of year, Ireland and Italy both benefitting by virtue of not playing anyone. We haven't been able to climb off the rankings canvas since Eddie's double point losses to Fiji and Wales. After the NH tours it will provide a more accurate picture.

It's quiet in here. You here Ben Youngs?

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

The jury is out on this point as he hasn’t played rugby since the start of year 11, but he certainly seems better equipped for the 15 man code. Kind of like a folau that can kick and tackle. I figure we will find out in November, even if only in that mid week game for now.

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

It was minute 64 when ALB got his card and 71 when Clarke got his. During that 16 minutes we out scored them 14-0. All of that is rendering all of his arguments incorrect. The problem was we had given them too much of a lead from the first 30 minutes.

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

If it’s a drawn series the holder of the cup retains it, they aren’t actually winning it. But it’s a fair point from a spectator point of view.
