The best way that RA ans NSWRU could stand up for kids who want to play rugby is to reinvigorate their own junior pathways and competitions, which in turn has a flow on effect into the state system, which means that the majority of aspirational kids aren't funnelled into the private school system.

    Shute Shield 2020

Uni played smart, percentage football, Norths did some dumb things and the refereeing was substandard in such a critical game.

    Shute Shield 2020

Top 6 now set. Gordon minor premiers regardless of results. Uni should comfortably account for WSTB. Norths should beat the Rats and finish 2nd (the refereeing was so appalling in the Uni v Norths game I had to change channels after the intercept) The Easts v Randwick derby has special...

For example, in the period from the first Aust schools team in 1969 (not 1973) and carried your research into the 70s and 80s and early 90s you'd find that around 50% of the team came from state schools (sometimes more). This has fallen dramatically as the game has collapsed in the state school...

But you're talking a very small sample size and you're dealing in percentages and ratios, so it takes very little change to massively skew the statistics. You could prove anything using these particular statistics depending on what you wanted to prove.

As far as I know he has a great reputation wherever he's been. A great club man and very popular. I don't think the original poster knows what he's on about and has made an assumption that just because someone moved clubs that there must be some sort of bad blood or resentment.

It wasn't on 7TWO last week either, it was on 7Mate I think. Channel 138 instead of 137 on Foxtel. From memory the races were on 7TWO

I caught the 2nd half of Norths v Souths. Norths looked very good and Souths have some talent.

Top 6 appear set, in the same form as it seemed set to me 6 weeks or so ago. Easts and Uni each have a game against WSTB and its hard to see either of them losing those games. Warringah have Eastwood and Norths and they would need to win both of those to have a hope Souths have Manly and...

Statistics can be beguiling HB. :) These things often need context and depth or analysis as the bare numbers are often dependent on time and circumstances. For example 11 out of Kings 30 1st XV titles were won before the end of WW1. 17 of Shore's 24 2nd XV titles were won before 1971...

Well done to Kings (1sts), Joeys (2nds) and Grammar (3rds) Kings have been my tip in the 1sts ever since I saw them beat Scots in the trials and I also said that Grammar would be hard to beat given their trial game against a Newington mixed 2nds/1sts squad. A tough year for Newington, we'll...

Tough day at Hunter's Hill for the Newington 1sts and 2nds as reality hit them head on. Amidst the wreckage of the day there were a couple of pieces of good news for Newington boys and supporters 16A Newington def Joeys 17-10 14A Newington Joeys 26-7 Also a couple of the lower age or open...
