The starter at the Rebels mite be first choice at the Reds. It depends who is the better player. When do 20yr olds get a chance anywhere now? If their talent and skill are up to it, they could get a chance immediately. Super Rugby teams have positions that they are weak in and are looking for talent...

I was using the example given of a 19-year-old 3rd choice. My point is that if you are not good to make a competitive Super Rugby squad, with however many tight 5 players they want to carry, then you are not good enough. If Australia had 3 Super Rugby teams each with 4 hookers, you need to be one of...

Are you saying that if a player is 3rd choice for the Waratahs, they should be able to be 1st choice somewhere else in Australia? This is already happening and all it seems to do is pull down the whole level of competition. If you are 3rd choice here in Super Rugby, it should mean you are not good...

NZ has hitched it's wagon to Australia by pushing SA out of Super Rugby. I think we are already seeing the effects of that with players not getting consistent quality competition to improve. And the same point I make about Australia, I will make about NZ - none of the top tier teams play domestic-only...

There is a need for a professional competition under Super Rugby but the guys who aren’t good enough, aren’t good enough. Is there a Super Rugby of Australians playing around the world who are at least at the Brumbies level or higher? If so, the problem is with identifying talent. The more I...

yeah ok. This makes sense and I get it. I think I’m on record as saying NZ has to do more and as unrealistic as it may seem, making the revenue sharing arrangement sharing more even, even if Australia has less teams, makes sense. A weak Australian Super Rugby base does NOTHING for NZ - its actually...

When were the Force cut and for how long? edit: BTW - I wouldn’t cut the Force if I had to choose between them and the Rebels.

Also, if the problem is that Australia has all this talent that they can’t hold on to because there aren’t enough professional teams for them to get signed to, as I have seen stated here by some, why did the Force and Rebels need exemptions for their overseas player numbers and why were they...

The trend has been consistently downward. 2nd in 2015 was a matter of getting to the RWC Final - awesome. But it was a bump in a definite downward trajectory. A trajectory which is mirrored in the Super Rugby results. There have been years when Australian teams have occupied 4 spots of the...

The ‘shrinking to greatness’ comment which keeps getting made is hilarious. Since 2011 - the first season of the Rebels - Australia has ‘expanded to greatness’ by slipping further down the world rankings each year from 2nd in 2011 to currently 9th. The answer apparently, is not to shrink the...

    Wallabies 2024

You wanna complain about choking and then you champion the guy who single-handedly cost the Wallabies a win against the ABs last year? LMAO I mean sure - I would have taken Foley over Donaldson. Would you take QC (Quade Cooper) over your man Donno?

    Wallabies 2024

So if it’s not Donno or QC (Quade Cooper), it’s Foley??

    Wallabies 2024

No. Donaldson was your ’better back up’ option, not mine. LOL

    Wallabies 2024

Donaldson was the better ‘experienced back-up’ option?! God - this has to be a joke. I’ve got to be getting pranked here….you got me muthafuckers!!

    Wallabies 2024

Yes. That’s how I know ‘to be ready’ can mean more than what you desperately want it to be. Hooper specifically says he was 100% by Georgia. So just tell us that you think he’s a liar.

Richie McCaw and the All Blacks choked at the RWC. If this is all you have then you don’t know a fucken thing about sport, let alone rugby.

    Wallabies 2024

No no no….you said he stated that he wasn’t right. That’s not at all what he said and he is on record saying he was good. To be ready means he has to stay fit and prepared and ready to step on the field at the last minute. Again - you think he’s lying, that’s up to you.

    Wallabies 2024

So taking 1 experienced 10 (and then basically discarding him after a poor performance) was a better option than taking an experienced 10, one who has win a Super Rugby title and actually has a winning record with the Wallabies in 80-odd Tests. But sure - you know more about rugby than those ex-players.
