    Wallabies 2024

Oh the overall point about players not stepping up? It's because they aren't that good. See @Pfitzy's 72,000 iterations of the development pathway rant.

    Wallabies 2024

Well it was against NZ in a Bledisloe in a game we got roundly beaten in as a team. Not many players are going to look great debuting in those conditions.

I always thought he got shafted a bit by Rennie. One spanking against NZ and then one bench appearance against Argentina (in which he actually looked pretty good). Never to be seen again.

Argentina v Australia TRC Round 4 Sunday 8 September 5am (AEST)

Used to be we would be the team that would kill for a warm dry track.

I could probably name a whole team but it's just entirely beside the point. Who really gives a fuck if one overseas player makes us 3% better than horse piss? no one. The player drain doesn't matter on an individual basis. It's always been the cumulative effect.

The 150 odd professional Australian rugby players that could form the basis of a 3rd tier competition and create some actual depth from which to pluck Wallabies.

How are the Tahs top heavy?

    Wallabies 2024

I agree. We should figure out how to leverage the Japanese competition because using players from Europe seems far too logistically challenging save for WCs and tours.

    Australian Rugby / RA

Ah so you contend that RA intentionally sunk the Rebels to compel talent to move to NSW?

Australia v NZ. Bledisloe Cup Series 2024. Sep 21, Sep 28

Yeah I have to say I thought Telea and Reece were the form wingers, at least at Super Rugby level. Fuck me Reece was bad last game.

Unless signing for the Waratahs of course - in which case they were strong-armed by RA to bolster the Tahs squad. Right?

The only one I agree with there is Jorgensen. I don't know why they threw so much money at him. The Suaallii deal was another of McLennan's captains calls. I think it was always likely Kellaway would end up back in Sydney and the majority of the Rebels additions were already under contracts...

It will be a lot easier for me when the Bears come back...

Because Charlie Gamble got a small top-up and Liam Wright didn't? A fuck up, clearly. But you are being silly.

RA acting like a bankrupt debtor these days...

Slim pickings in the locking department

Argentina v Australia TRC Round 4 Sunday 8 September 5am (AEST)

Yeah I agree with this. 'Would get picked' could cover a number of players in each position except where there is a clear stand-out.

Argentina v Australia TRC Round 4 Sunday 8 September 5am (AEST)

I mean - shortly after Raelene got axed by Phil Kearns he gave an interview stating everything was rosy now that she was gone and that we had exciting playmaking prospects coming through the development pathways. The exciting prospect being Edmed... These people are idiots.

Argentina v Australia TRC Round 4 Sunday 8 September 5am (AEST)

I always thought of world class as meaning a player that would get picked in a world 23. I don't think we getting anyone in there.

Argentina v Australia TRC Round 4 Sunday 8 September 5am (AEST)

Yeah it would definitely be easier to believe if we weren't relying on the same amateur development pathways to produce professional players.
