Ah yes, the number of Australians booing him vs. those that are New Zealanders is a significant one :|

Hell no, Robbie doesn't have the balls to play Beale at ten or Biebs at twelve.

That midfield has me salivating, but simultaneously terrified when I think what fun Jaime Roberts would have against it.

Means nothing if we have a powder-puff forward pack.

RWC 2011 SF2: Australia vs. New Zealand

It's not that the box kicks were bad, it's more that Genia is infuriatingly slow at his wind up. So whenever the Blecks got wind of what was coming, they send back guys to act as shields against the runners. Very well thought out plan from the Cartel me thinks.

RWC 2011 SF2: Australia vs. New Zealand

It's not that the box-kick is inherently bad, when it's executed effectively with good chasers it's a world cup winning tactics (see Boks). It's just that Genia has never ever been good at them.

RWC 2011 SF2: Australia vs. New Zealand

I have some theories about this. 1) We weren't getting quick ball all tournament 2) To create more space for himself as a result of the above, Cooper started playing a lot deeper 3) Because of both 1) and 2) Genia had to wait for cleaner ball to be able to get the ball deeper, and because...

Genia needs to watch videos of Yachvialli.

You could definitely feel that hurt in the NZ performance tonight. Ruthless and focused. Great performance all around, especially up front.

    Robbie Deans

Then I'd suggest that the problem is systemic, and rooted in deeper problems in Australian rugby beyond what goes on at the test level.

    Robbie Deans

I really think we should start selecting props that can 1) scrummage first and 2) be ho-hum around the park. Alexander has a great work-rate, but he got totally reamed. Need more Palmer.

    So where to from here?

Yeah, I mean we just don't have enough in the midfield to threaten anyone with both McCabe and Ant. Strong defensively, too predictable in attack. Although we didn't get much ball, Robbie really got it wrong tonight with that selection.

    Robbie Deans

I agree Deans isn't the man, but our current crop of players aren't exactly grand. Or if they are talented, they are inexperienced at test level. Probably haven't lost enough where the stakes are high for it to hurt enough to inspire.

I hate to criticize...but 3 points for Quade? Really? He only played decent once we fell 10+ points behind and the game was decided.

    So where to from here?

Probably should start with intensive therapy.
