Wallabies 2025 Spring Tour

The way Tane has been randomly thrust forward despite not showing any form makes me think it might be more of a Les Kiss call
Schmidt selected Edmed over Lynagh on the end of year tour.

After Lolesio, Lynagh and Donaldson were all injured he was the bench option behind JOC (James O'Connor), and then promoted to start when it looked like JOC (James O'Connor) may not be back for Bled two.

As above. Last man standing

Lynagh and Donaldson were both fit for both Bledisole Tests. Tane was just preferred over them

Edmed got himself selected on the EOYT from his form in the NPC. Might not be the guy now but he earnt the call up at the time.

This is where I hope Super Rugby Aus shifts to a H/A next year.

Would be good to have Lynagh get an opportunity to test out a hammy at match speed and get the cobwebs off. I think the majority of the piggies would get shut down for a deserved rest but would be good for the fringe backs who see sporadic mins of Test footy get out there for 50-60 mins.

Donaldson they choose to give him game time first in Super Rugby AU otherwise his last game would have been eight weeks

different with someone like Gordon as Lonergan and Thomas had one test between them

Carter Gordon will be joining the spring tour by the sounds - just posted in the Reds thread but his signing and NRL release being finalised today.

Schmidt and Kiss must really dislike Edmed and Donaldson if the report about paying $100k to the Titans just to have Gordon released ASAP is true.

It's crazy to think that until this comp the vast Australian franchise players would effectively be doing nothing from the end of SS / HC til the next SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) pre-season.
Extending Super Rugby AU to 6 games is probably the perfect for what we need:
- Gives fringe players a go
- Keeps players battle harden
- Helps players rehab back from injuries
- Good for refs to get more experience (I thought they were fantastic)
- Festival type events with double headers are fun

They'll sort it out. I hope

First iteration with a quick set up so I get this season but lining it up with the underage games at a minimum helps give it that nostalgic feel of a day of lower grades into seniors. Clear air sports wise right now as well to get people to come out.

I wouldn’t say they dislike Edmed he’s very lucky to be in the Wallabies and starting

Reality is we need to throw so money to sort out the ten situation and Gordon has the biggest upside of the current crop

Can you copy the report in the forum if possible?

He was, Doran and the other major journalists confirmed he was, why else would he be in the squad

He was actually....

He was in the squad for both tests...

He was named in the squad, but…

The biggest decision revolved around selecting Edmed at ten, with Tom Lynagh yet at full speed.

So he was picked in both squads but not available for selection? Seems like great logic. Who would have played 10 if Edmed went down at training?

Sometimes you have to read between the lines. "Not at full speed" is not a medical diagnosis, it's a coaches way of deflecting a question as to why the guy he backed for the whole Lions series is now not being picked in the 23
