Wallabies 2025 Spring Tour

So he was picked in both squads but not available for selection? Seems like great logic. Who would have played 10 if Edmed went down at training?

Sometimes you have to read between the lines. "Not at full speed" is not a medical diagnosis, it's a coaches way of deflecting a question as to why the guy he backed for the whole Lions series is now not being picked in the 23

I would rather assume the simpler explanation is he was selected with the chance he might be available…

I wouldn’t say they dislike Edmed he’s very lucky to be in the Wallabies and starting

Reality is we need to throw so money to sort out the ten situation and Gordon has the biggest upside of the current crop
Until he's not... JOC (James O'Connor) was the messiah.. until he wasn't... there is no certainty that Gordon is going to be the answer. They definitely are desperate to get him back though..

Gordon will need an extensive medical before they contemplate dropping any money on him

With everyone pushing their own favorite 10, it's pretty clear none have really announced themselves as a test quality 10. Like some here I would have probably given Donaldson a bit more exposure, but I don't think he really stands out from the others.
Carter Gordon looked like our best 10 during Super Rugby in 2024, but barely converted it to test level. However, given the debacle that was the Wallabies during the Eddie Jones moment, he is probably worth another good hard look. The only caveat to that is someone else needs to kick goals, as he's clearly not a test level (or even Super level) goalkicker.
With luck one of the young upcoming 10's, like Meredith, Bowen, Burey etc will make big leaps forward during 2026 and perhaps solve a problem for 2027 WC.

Doubtful with a spinal injury but you hope he spent his offseason kicking sticks.

Shame they couldn't have organised this a week earlier because Carter off the bench for Aus A is a bit more fair than being included in the EoYT.

Whilst I agree with you - the fact that he came back this year and played a few games of QCup and an NRL game hopefully means the Titans medical staff have done a really good job with his medical review.

Part of me believes RA might just take a look at that and sign the contract.

The same Doran who writes about players being “SENSATIONALLY DROPPED” in every team announcement, only for it to turn out they were carrying an injury?
To be fair to Doran he doesn't write the headlines

He gets things wrong but he's normally got good intel. The Carter Gordon news for a recent example

He also writes about players being “sensationally dropped” in the article sans caps before he gets the correct information so he can be first or “EXCLUSIVE,” and then goes back and edits his articles for accuracy…

But yes, he’s great for gossip but a terrible journalist… probably that NewsCorp training.

In fact, based on the lack of any sub editing process it’s likely he is writing his own headlines like some other smaller news organisations…

Sualli is an elite goal kicker. Kicked a lot for the Roosters. from memory in the low 80s%

I'm not the journalism police so I don't really care about things changing sometimes considering he gives us team news considering the Wallabies like giving us very little info on anything

His pieces outside of team naming's all end up being pretty accurate though, and both he and old Shakespeare Harry Jones have said they don't write their headlines

Yes, old mate Shakespeare Jones. A legend in his own mind. King of the self rap! Although he did predict his favourite 10 Edmed would emerge!

Cool, anyways…

I don’t recall him writing anything substantive that contradicts Schmidt re: Lynagh.

Not to defend Doran, who has gotten significantly worse the last year or two, but I think you're letting Tony Harper off the hook there.
