it was a day for forwards with the rain and that front row of easts were impressive down at Bottomley park. Several scrum pushover tries. starting front row of Nick Bloomfield, Andrew Ready, Jethro Felemi and then replaced by Wagner (Former Force), Max Craig (Current Reds), JP Tominiko. Not sure if anyone in the comp has that strength both starting and then replacements in the comp.

With Callum Lauder and Phransis Sula-Siaosi soon to return from Hong Kong, the Souths front row stocks of George Francis, Callum Lauder, Harry Holt, Trevor King, Phransis Sula-Siaosi & Peter Halapio will be extremely competitive. George Francis is much fitter in 2025. He has put in longer than usual shifts(60+ minutes)in the trial against Norths and in the diabolical conditions on Saturday against Sunnybank.

Should be a great match up this weekend with Easts v Wests in front row Easts very strong and Wests likely to have Massimo De Luitis and Timma Fanginuku (apologies for spelling) back. Hopefully some better weather too

Unsure - but De Luitis I would assume will be in NZ as a last minute prop change in squad of 30 or so should something happen to the Matchday 23z

You’d expect them to fly back Friday or Saturday morning and be available in afternoon and then players who didn’t play Friday available Saturday in qpr

Any word on when they might play the lower grades catch-ups?
I know the Easts/Norths grades games are being caught up as midweek games over 2 weeks.

Was down at Norths this morning, good to see the numbers they have this year especially around the lower grades where I know first hand how they struggled previous years, full 4th grade with players to spare some sitting out or fresh bench players up the grades. And a Colts 3 side! Things I love to see as its only a good thing for rugby!

Hospital Cup looks a very tough one to call, all the clubs look to have done some great off season work and theres some good excitement towards club rugby!

It gets to be a controversial topic, but anyone know from Reds squad who’s affiliated to what squad etc etc? Obviously been alot of movement there with Reds recruiting well.

Great early call. Norths 71- Uni 19 in Premier grade. Norths backs ran riot in heavy conditions. Uni a shadow of their former self. No 15 for Norths had a blinder.

Another good win to the Magpies. Just like last week they jumped out to good margin in the first half. A couple of bad bounces of the ball, a few missed lineouts and a few penalties let GPS back into the game. Souths rallied again and had a 19 point buffer but again GPS came back but Souths held on for a 9 point bonus point win.
Great effort by the Souths front row of George Francis, Harry Holt and Peter Halipio. George and Harry played the full 80 minutes and Peter was on for 73 minutes. Well done piggies!!
Excellent game also by "Stretch" Stewart at #10.
After the Norths result against UQ, next week's game will be epic.

Congrats to the Tigers. Gutsy win over one of the comps powerhouse. Easts won reserve and colts too.

Wests didn’t play bad - just tiger tooth and nail defense in the second half.
I seriously think Easts will be right up there end of season. For UQ its looking like probably too many changes, and heard a rumour they lost some significant funding that they use to get.
