I reckon there is zero chance a dual Euro Champion Cup winning coach with 5+ years as an HC accepts a 2IC international role on the other side of the world. But I could be wrong
Larkham & the Brumbie's structure play is the closest to the Schmidt style of playI have always assumed it would be Les Kiss or Stephan Larkham.
Cheika's approach appears to be having big pigs continually bashing one up, chasing that front foot ball to get in behind the retreating defence. It worked for one season. He then tried to implement it with the Wobs and it failed. Coleman's approach was the same. It works for 20 mins, then the Tahs start losing shape, dropping balls and throwing hospital passes and led to loads of fatigue and injuriesCheika will be available again
Don’t think he’s the guy but
I disagree with this bit as there have been times when our forwards have been equal and, in some instances, dominant. Our athleticism is equal to any and better than most due to our outdoor sports culture, which, although dampened, is still huge.We don't have the physicality of the Boks or the athleticism of the Kiwis
Aus rugby is at it's best working within well defined structures
I mean, it worked for at least two Tahs seasons, and then for one Wallabies season. And by 'worked' I mean it won a Super Title, backed that up with a top two finish and then made a RWC final.Cheika's approach appears to be having big pigs continually bashing one up, chasing that front foot ball to get in behind the retreating defence. Don't have the personnel for it at the moment, though.I mean, it worked for at least two Tahs seasons, and then for one Wallabies season. And by 'worked' I mean it won a Super Title, backed that up with a top two finish and then made a RWC final.
I'm not pro Cheika returning to the Wallabies, but it's still a resume unlike any other local candidate.
It also worked quite well for Argentina and a few European teams. However, Super Rugby is a league where tactics are a distant second to team cohesion/motivation and the Wallabies got worse and worse every day that Link wasn’t their coach, IMHO.I mean, it worked for at least two Tahs seasons, and then for one Wallabies season. Id say he has indeed decided. RA is currently trying to get him to change his mindWhy is it taking so long to announce Joe’s decision? He’s either finishing up or he’s staying on? Rugby Australia knew he signed until the end of the British Lions series. I guess they want him to stay but surely by now he has decided?
