CAS Rugby 2022

- Biet out for season, and didn't show enough when he played, nor is he a winger
- Jarrah from Knox is missing, he is almost guaranteed a spot
- Bryn Edwards from Barker is 99% probably gonna get picked, if not Obaseki at hooker
- Saunders from Knox is 1 of 2 schoolboys (the other is Max Jorgenson) who was picked in the u20's Wallabies side, he's a given
- 6 give me Will Kennedy (Barker), or Miller (Knox)
- The Aloys wingers aren't getting picked over the Knox wingers, Read (Barker) or Jahnke-Tavana (W)
- I don't think someone who plays Old Boys is eligible
- Cranbrook and Aloysius are not getting 5 players in the team
- Knox who are looking like the second-best team in the CAS are absolutely getting more than 1 player, and waves more than 1
I agree with your point about the knox wingers but don't be suprised to see cranbrook in that 15. Both the hooker and 7 are two exceptional players. The 2 row also showed good potential.

Yeah I had Obaseki the Cranbrook hooker there too. I think Edwards from Barker will get the nod, but Obaseki is definitely right there with him.

Obviously haven't seen bossy obaseki in action. Guaranteed selection in my opinion. Was on the CAS 1sts bench when he first played in year 10.

Yes. And as of this season, Edwards has been the best hooker I've seen in 2022. Better thrower. Better scrummager. Much better defender (arguably the best defender at Barker) and he's better at the breakdown whilst also being a dynamic ball-runner. Edwards just doesn't have the same offload game as Obaseki, but Edwards is just a better all-around pure footballer IMO. Definitely taken a huge step forward this season.

One of them will start, the other will be on the bench, both will get game time.

obaseki definitely has the attacking edge over Edwards. IMO he should be the starting hooker. Will be interesting to see who the selectors go for given obaseki has been out with a knee injury for a couple of weeks now.

Nosa Obaseki is a shout to be selected if can get a game against barker. Barker 10 is obviously a stand out selection I would like to see cranbrook 7 being selected had a blinder agaisnt Knox. Knox 12 is a force to be reckoned with. Couple stand outs for cranbrook being the number 5 I believe to be Thomas Girle and the 14 for Knox Alexander Sherlock. Special shout out to The crabrook 12 (Cooper Rathie who got awared man of the match by the Knox Boys.

Any predictions for CAS 16As

Jaxson Allen (Cranbrook), Oliver Patterson(Cranbrook) and Lance Tovio (Cranbrook) both eligible for 16As despite playing First XV And Second XV
As well as Nathanial Thomas (Barker) returning for a second year of CAS 16as And Zion Potiha (College of Knowledge).

Ive heard that Waverley College Number 10 Troy Patea is dangerous ball runner as-well as a great eyes up footy player was lucky enough to see him play against Oak-hill.

Knox 16As were unlucky to lose to Joeys by 2 points and beat Newington, so some talent there, especially in the backrow i believe.
Think they hammered Cranbrook last week.

Unfortunately 2 of the 3 starting backrowers for Knox have been injured / unavailable for CAS, but Heath Turner is a gun #7 and will make CAS, as well as Dylan Hall as fullback who must be the fastest schoolboy in NSW having clocked a 10.8 last year.

I too have heard Knox have a very strong team do you know what the final score was (Cranbrook Vs Knox)16As I heard Knox won to nill

Jay Harris playing 2s at Knox and getting game time in 1sts in the 2nd row is eligible as well.
It looks like there is a resurgence in Knox rugby at the moment.
The 1sts and 16as are favs to beat the Waves, should both be good games.

Not sure how the lower age age groups will pan out, your thoughts?

Ah, WLF, back to your old tricks. I wouldn’t say Knox are favourites in the 1sts. I have it as too close to call - the bounce of the ball, a kick here or there, maybe a bit of discipline at a crucial moment.
