Another schoolboy voting with their feet and playing Colts instead of in their age group with SJRU.

Interesting that both Serhon (NEW) and Craig (EBHS-CHS) are both doing preseason (or whole season in Craig's case) in Colts. Should be a good battle coming up for the NSW Schoolboy #2 Jumper. I'm sure that Fotokava (View) and a couple of others believe that this will be more than a two horse race.

Is it my imagination or are there more GPS school boys playing colts at the start of the season this year than there have been before?
Scots have let (or don't know) Crichton, Rudolph, Maddocks off the leash. Serhon from New! Who else is out there/

Rocky Elsom (76)
Crossley from Scots has played with Manly Colts 2's.
Hardly a surprise that Rudolf has played with Scots College Old Boys Randwick.
Digby from Grammar to Randwick Colts 3
Crichton has also been linked with Chooks SG Ball team.

Not GPS but
CHS - Vatuvei with Parramatta, Craig with Eastwood
ISA - Adcock with Easts, Masima with Uni, Davidson with Manly, Tutunoa with Manly
CAS - Bassett with Randwick
CCC - Gourley with Manly

I'm sure that there are more, esp from CHS and CCC in Colts.

There are also a number of dual code boys playing SG Ball and Union. Names and further discussion in this thread.http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/co...-jnr-representative-league.12324/#post-544540 Not sure how current the information is but the following boys are listed there.
ISA: Tukipili - Manly SG Ball
CAS: Makas - Rooster SG Ball
CAS: Narayan - Rooster SG Ball
AAGPS: Crichton - Rooster SG Ball

Three with the Roosters - are they paying the school fees as part of the boys' contracts?

Latham TAKAU

This couldn't be the same Latham Takau who played for Ipswich Grammar in Queensland in 2011 and 2012, could it?

The news north of the tweed was that he was was studying at King's College Auckland in 2013, playing rep footy as a 19 Y.O. 125 kilogram tighthead for the Auckland team.

Crikey, I see that Ned Hanigan is playing first grade for Randwick in the second row.

I thought that Ned was a good chance to get into the Oz U20 team but he didn't make it.

He should be picked in 2015 after playing in the Randwick Ones in 2014—though I don't think that Schools' tight five players should play first grade the following year.

Really?
He scored a hat trick in 2's last week.
One of them was particularly impressive.
Is there an injury?
That's one position where I thought the incumbents were safe,as they have both been playing strongly.

One is under the Watatah microscope.

HE has been billed as the brightest young rugby talent since Kurtley Beale, and after training with the Waratahs last week teenager Andrew Kellaway is confident he can step up to Super Rugby this year if asked.
The 18-year-old redhead prodigy may have played just 15 minutes of Shute Shield rugby but his undeniable gifts prompted Waratahs coach Michael Cheika to draft him into his training squad after numerous injuries to outside backs.
After training alongside the likes of Beale and Israel Folau, former schoolboy star Kellaway is hopeful of playing for NSW in 2014.

Last week was the first time I had seen the Rats and I agree those 2 did not put a foot wrong.
Not sure of the circumstances - big game to get a your first start in.
Judging from HJ's link HJ missed the U20s.

I think you may have meant "Judging from HJ's link AK (Andrew Kellaway) missed the U20's". I'd be flattered to think I missed out on the Under 20's.:)

WRT Kellaway. He played well enough at the National U20's tournament recently in Canberra to get selected for the Extended Squad for the AUstralian U20's. See @RugbyReg post #252 (page 13 of the 2014 Jnr RWC thread).
http://www.greenandgoldrugby.com/co...orld-championship-–-new-zealand.13567/page-13

I suspect that he has been dragged from that squad camp at Bond Uni by the Tahs, rather than being cut from the extended squad.

Not unheard of in the past. Chris F-Sautia was prevented from going to Jnr RWC last year by the Reds committments.

Nope, discussion is about The HJ aka Harry Jones, not AK (Andrew Kellaway).

Rocky Elsom (76)
Oh that HJ, not this HJ. Oops.

I was thrown by the "HJ link" reference which I took to be mean a refenence to the post I made above, linking the Terrorgraph article on AK (Andrew Kellaway).

On the subject of That HJ, while his attack is superb, how has he been going on defence in the big boys games?
If there was one area of his game that needed some polishing, it was his defence.

Grade Rugby has a nasty habit of exposing the most minor weaknesses in parachuted Schoolboy Protegees.

John Eales (66)
Harry Jones is starting for the Rats on the wing in the TV game. Brad Dixon is getting married.

My mail is that Hugh Jarse will be on the couch, not the bench.

Hugh Jarse

Rocky Elsom (76)
Nah. Watching the Junior Jarses tomorrow at that time. It will be ABC iView or recorded on the foxtel IQ for me.

Looking forward to seeing how that HJ goes. Good luck to the lad. It will be a massive game for all concerned. Hope the weather holds.

Wow thanks for that exercise HJN and TheKing

That means that of the 49 Queensland players who played for some team in the 2013 nationals, and have left school, 41 are still playing rugby union.

That's 84%—a bigger percentage than I expected.

Even if I counted wrongly, and if some guys aren't following through with the sport as reported, it's a good number isn't it?

I thought the numbers playing league would be higher and am pleased that it isn't.

Thanks.

Conrad Quick played 13 for Sunnybank Colts last weekend. Not sure what he was doing before that.

That's most probably right. I did a quick stalk of his Facebook and found heaps of photos of him with people who played for WA. Had a guess that he was over there at the moment with Nili Fielea.

Thanks for clearing that up :)
