I wonder how much harm was done by the artificial injection of the "Firepower" cash?

The Force might well be a stronger franchise now if they had had been realistically funded from the beginning, and made rational decisions, instead of spending big like millionaires. It could not last, as we have seen, and damage must have been done.

I believe a play for TC was made by the Force.

It fell short becuase he doesn't want to leave Sydney. Poor fool, doesn't realise what he is missing.

I'm not in a position to know but I think it might be something still worth pursuing.

I can't imagine why anyone would want to leave Sydney but if I had to, Perth would be high on the list of places I might enjoy living in.

I guess the thing from Carter's point of view would be that he's a starter for the Tahs and he gets to stay in his home town. Were his place under serious threat I reckon he might feel differently.

What do you mean TBH? Carter doesn't have a contract next year. Tahs first offered a reduced contract, then didn't offer one at all.

Story is that Carter would prefer not to leave Sydney so is exploring league options, where he'd probably be a wide standing backrower, over overly dissimilar to Sam Harris. I don't know if he'd get a big league contract though, they might baulk at giving a substantial offer to a person in their late 20s switching codes. No offence to Carter, but that is understandable.

No doubt Carter will weigh up what offers he gets. IMO he would be silly to forgo the Force offer now, unless he is willing to retire from pro football to remain in Sydney.

I think his biggest reason for not wanting to leave Sydney is that his wife is finishing studying Medicinel in Sydney.

What? He hasn't been a starter almost all year and is almost certain to e released by the Tahs at season's end, hence the discussion about him moving to the Force.

Im sorry i have nothing against the bloke and dont care much for all teh crap around him but i dont want to see TC at the force. We have enough crash ball 12s Delit sidey Stanly no need for another one.

Sorry fellas, didn't know that crucial piece of information. I don't really follow the list management of the Tahs!

That changes everything then. I think he's a fool for not taking a life line with another franchise.

Not quite, BG. He has started in 8 of the 14 games the Waratahs have played this year; he was on the bench for 5 games and left out of the 22 once. With him starting they won 50% of their games; without him they have won none.

So they are hosed this weekend BR? That would make for some happy Brumbies fans!

And does this mean Reds Fans are going to send mail to Foley saying get Carter?

Anyone suggesting that TC would be silly not to accept the Forces offer must realise that there was no offer in the first place. TC management approached the force and they have no plans to sign him Fact.

i spoke to TC this week, force approched him, double fact, he doesnt want to move so they never even got to contract talk.

That's cheating, wj. Talking to an actual source and identifying them is not the way it's normally done. Correct form is to simply assert something and claim it as fact.

[Edit] Braveheart provides an example above of how it is done by the most venerated and authoritative rugby journalist in Australia - and arguably the known universe.

difference being you dont seem to be able to name your source, which over something like this, non life threatening issue of TC providing the force with a level of professionalism and ability unseen in a back at the team since inception, seems to suggest there isnt one.

I wasn't really having a go at you, GC. I was actually mucking about with waratah jesus who often fronts up to people at the 'Tahs and then quotes them. None of them seem to mind.

As is common in such circumstances, there has been so much noise in the form of conflicting rumours coming from the West in relation to the coaching appointment that it is virtually impossible for anyone outside the tent - and perhaps within - to separate fact from fiction. One rumour that I heard was that player recruiting had been suspended until the coaching issue was settled. That makes sense to me.
