I wouldn't get to down about Foley. A few coach's who have had been deemed 'not good enough' by the Waratah's establishment and/or playing group in the past have actually turned out to be rather good at their jobs.

I've worked with Cheika before.......and I am sorry to say, he is not the answer the Tahs are looking for. There are a number of personality traits that will just not endear him to the players, sponsors or supporters. In any case, I dont think the Tahs could afford him. Let's remember, he asked the Force for $600K per year.

I think they'll most likely go for someone on a one year deal with a one year option. And it ill be someone who can flatten the attack and get them playing running rugby again. Todd Louden would be one that comes to mind, but he has been burned by them before and it remains to be seen if those bridges have been rebuilt. I personally think they'll go for a coach who would be more in the Tahs price range. And I wouldnt be surprised if they go with a couple of blokes rather than 1 big name head coach.

Will be interesting to see if the Randwick Mafia has been resurrected..............

Macqueen did coach the tahs.... I'm not sure how old you are, But if you can't remember Rod, then you probably weren't watching rugby around the early 1990s.

Link despite the success he achieved was booted because of differences with Phil Waugh and other senior players. didn't turn out to well for Phil and co., really.

Rod Macqueen coached the Tahs in 1991 and 1992 several years before Super Rugby even started.

He was pretty successful there too.

Link did five pretty successful years, Macqueen never coached the Tahs, I struggle to understand your logic.

You might as well add in Graham Henry & Clive Woodward as well

I place alot of the 91 world cup success on Mcqueen''s NSW coaching, the Daly, Kearns, Link Front row, he blooded Edgerton from some where, a strong stable centre pairing of Tombs and Wells - he's very well balanced coach and peoples person, This team knocked over the Auckland Blues at there peak, and then put on 40 + points on the Welsh and another interantaional side.

What DB said.

Corrected. Macqueen's Tahs lost to Auckland 35-10 in 1992, but they did beat Wales 71-8 in 1991. The 1991 score against the Poms was a close 21-19.

Wait, when did the McQueen coached Waratahs beat the Auckland Blues???? Something is wrong here methinks.
