That is disappointing. Massive fan of shep but I suppose we don't know all the details. I rated him as latham's replacement when he retired from internationals. A fit and inform Shepard is one of the main backs in Australia to make the wallabies in my opinion. Hard with Beale in such good form now though. He couldn't have any match bans surely, other guys have done alot worse. How does everyone else rate him?

Not exactly the first time for this character!

Not the first time - he was stood down by Link at the Tahs after being arrested for physically damaging/trashing a car outside the Sydney Casino after a 21st birthday party - never really got back into the Tahs after being suspeneded and exited to the Force at the end of that same season - not great background to take into a disciplinary hearing re alcohol

Nothing happened to QC (Quade Cooper) after the burg stuff. Or was he found not guilty. We can't afford to loose sheps. Have to hope for the best.

Shocking to see Bam working on his guns in that Sharpie video

re Shep - very big waste of talent. Although he's always seemed very hot/cold to me in games. Not one to be 'budgeted on' as Link would say

He has been a shithead but I don't think anyone will benefit from him missing any pre-season games, perhaps make him miss the first round or two of the first regular season.

He seems like such a great bloke but serious, who drink drives let alone leading into season when you are a professional athlete.

Red Rooster - that incident in Sydney with Shepherd was particularly stupid, and supposed was a driving force in why he left Sydney: to get away from what he'd done. For those who forgot, Shepherd got drunk and was caught jumping up and down on the top of parked cars with some friends.

This is absolutely mind-boggling. This is a guy who went to a good school, had every chance in life, loaded with talent, and he does something totally f***ing reprehensible like this. He earns enough money to pay for taxis. Now his earnings will dive, although presumably he will pick up a retirement job in Japan. I doubt that the French would be interested in a richardhead like this.

If they took on Henjak, they'll take on anyone

Has no one here ever driven after having a few pints. Whoops. Forgot about the suspended license. Will be interesting once they can release all the details. Innocent until proven guilty. Lol. It's not that bigger news in perth. If it was a eagles player it would be front page news.

Henjak was a waist. He was probably the best half back in australia leading into that season coming off the arc comp.

Exactly. What choice did he have? It was either drive home drunk on a suspended licence, or walk home along the rooves of parked cars. Seeings as the fun police don't approve of the latter, he chose the former. He should actually be applauded for not hitting anything or running anyone over in my opinion.

Political correctness gone mad.

Being able to afford a taxi is one thing, being able to find a taxi is quite another.

I've found WA in general and Fremantle specifically to be extremely tough to get a cab, can't imagine how shite it would be at christmas.

Speaking from personal experience, the brain takes a short break after a few lagers.

Essentially you head out with your mates planning to get a taxi, then there isn't a taxi so what do you do?

Well this is not what I hoped to be talking about a month out of super rugby. Who was the best half back after gregan retired then ?

Exciting young West Australian scrumhalf Justin Turner will undergo a knee reconstruction after suffering an injury at training on Thursday

Turner underwent a knee reconstruction in June last year after injuring himself while on duty with the Australian U20’s at the IRB Junior World Championships in Argentina. Scans yesterday confirmed that he has re-torn the ACL in his right knee.

The 20 year old had been working diligently with club medical staff and was making excellent progress in his rehabilitation in preparation for the 2011 Super Rugby season.

“Justin is a quality young man and his dedication to his rehab program was second to none,” Head Coach Richard Graham said.

“The program put together for Justin by our medical team was spot on and had him in great shape and this was just one of those very unfortunate incidents.

“We’ll give Justin all the support he needs. He is a popular member of the squad and has a lot of good mates that have rallied around him and together we’ll help him get back onto the field,” Graham said.

It is a bitter pill to swallow for the talented scrumhalf who made his Emirates Western Force debut in dramatic circumstances last year and played the final seven games of the season. The youngster was sent on late in the round eight clash against the Stormers in Perth and was pivotal in the Emirates Western Force’s last gasp win, delivering the pass to David Hill that allowed him to convert a drop goal after the hooter.

A local product, Turner made his way to the top level through the RugbyWA academy set-up and signed a two year professional contract in May. He’ll undergo surgery in the coming weeks before starting again on the road to recovery.

The Emirates Western Force has cover in the scrumhalf position with experienced campaigner Brett Sheehan, returning Australian Sevens Player of the Year James Stannard and rookie Mark Swanepoel.

Not good on both counts. Things are not looking too rosy for my 3rd favorite Aussie team...

Ya gotta love a guy who does his research.

That's bad news for Turner and one hopes that he is not a serial crock of the Shepherd, 3M and Heenan class.

On Shepherd - silly bugger. I watching a recording of a game about 3 weeks ago when he was still playing for the Tahs. Geez the pace and the running skill of the man - what a waste.
