Re: Comings and goings at the Force
It's better for Oz Rugby if JOC (James O'Connor) stays out West. Good result.

Speads the talent my out my man. Every side has a decent 10/12 combo now (assuming the Force get someone at 10..)

I dont see that as an advantage, and neither would you if Giteau gets crocked in game 1 S14 2010. Then you'd want depth to back him up, possibly including Rabbit.

Might be bad for the Brumbies if OConnor stays in Perth, but it will be good for Australian rugby. That is because the better players in the country all get more game time, and more of the second tier players get some metors to teach them the game. We are seeing the Brumbies and Tahs grabbing a lot of talent, with players like Sekone Kepu and Mitch Chapman being forced to warm the bench, when Qld is screaming out for players of their calibre. Or Matt To'omua and Christian Lealiifano playing second fiddle behind Giteau when the Force need a playmaker. Hence these guys dont get the game time that will assist their development, and without a 3rd tier comp in Australia there is nowhere of a sufficiently high enough quality to play regularly.

Rightio, I've had it. I might not post here often, but I've been reading everyday since TYS's inception, and I can't remember many of your 1,433 posts that haven't made me grate my teeth.
Have you ever tried posting on here without bagging the out the West? Sure, heaps of Reds players came west in 2006. YOU HAVE TO GET OVER IT. Sometimes it is as if you'll only make a post in here if provided it'll give you the opportunity to vent.
Competitions evolve. Clubs need to as well. Where did the Reds finish in 2004? 2005? Third from the bottom, wasn't it? Was that the Force's fault too? If not, poaching from NSW, and ACT, I bet. Stop blaming everyone else. It has become a national competition and you have to start accepting that.
Your constant negativity is tiring. I'm sure they'll appreciate it more over at sportal or the colosseum.

South Africa star Andre Pretorius June 19, 2009 Western Force have signed World Cup-winning South Africa star Andre Pretorius as their marquee international for the 2010 Super 14 season. The 30-year-old five-eighth, who played 31 Tests for South Africa and was a member of their 2007 World Cup triumph in France, decided to head to Australia after falling out of the selection mix in the Springboks set-up. Pretorius compiled 645 points in eight seasons for the Lions and will replace Matt Giteau at No.10. With Pretorius' signature locked away, the Force are now waiting to hear from teen sensation James O'Connor. The 18-year-old had previously said he would decide on his future only when the Force secured a replacement for Giteau. “This was one of the biggest decisions I have had to make in my professional career,” Pretorius said. “My loyalty has always been with the Lions and the 11 years I spent here has been tremendous and they assisted me in becoming a Springbok. “That's what made this decision difficult. “I am excited about the opportunity to play for the Force. “I believe that their structures and type of coaching can get me to perform at my optimal best. “I will be surrounded by great players which makes it easy to focus only on what you have to do. “Having experience is one thing, using it to your advantage is another and that's where I think the coach (John Mitchell) will play a big role.” Force rugby manager Mitch Hardy said Pretorius would bring vital experience to the Perth-based franchise. “Andre has a complete range of skills but he also possess a lot of leadership qualities and is highly regarded in South African rugby for the quality of person he is off the field,” Hardy said. “He's a game breaker with significant international experience and he can control a game, which is exactly what we were looking for in a number ten.”

Pretorius signs for a season?
Who do they have planned for 2011?
