Copper and aluminium - sounds like a description of Coopers defence

I think you're trying to have a dig there but I may have missed it.

Copper and Aluminium can be used to make Bronze which is a hard and tough alloy. Bronze is also traditionally used as an award for third place in a competition.

So the meaning behind this post, if I'm reading bewteen the lines correctly, is that you think that Quade is hard and tough and he is the third best defender in the comp. Coming from a Tahs supporter, you can see my confusion, unless this is again part of the diabolical scheme to claim underdog status? :D

Copper is a natural material, strong, bright, shiny and a fantastic "conductor'
Aluminium is a mongrel of a metal - actually a lightweight

I know it kind of ruins it, sorry, but aluminium was only isolated quite recently (takes vast amounts of electrical energy)

Bronze OTOH has been around for thousands of years.

Bronze is an alloy consisting primarily of copper, usually with tin as the main additive.

Yep, I was waiting for that. Traditionally Bronzes are Copper and Tin but there are some aluminium bronzes that are favoured more for their corrosion and wear resistance which lends itself to my reply nicely I think!

I think benching Skelton is probably the right move. I expect the Reds will try to keep ball in hand against the tahs, and thought they might target him in defence. He's an exciting prospect but looked short of match fitness last week. He needs to get his fitness up if he's going to be effective for more than 40 minutes.

Yeah, Potgieter increases the packs mobility, and we get added mongrel

A section from a article that I enjoyed reading from reds supporter.

"This is a season of truth for the Waratahs. It is remarkable that the side with the greatest history of all the Australian sides and, until recently, the powerhouse of Australian rugby on and off the field, has NOT won a single Super Rugby title."

It's not until you win a super rugby title you deserve to have greatest history in Australian Rubgy.

He did a lot of work, particularly in charging at the defence. As a result, he missed a number of tackles and looked burnt out by half time. I suspect he needs to learn not to go too hard too early; he should pace himself over 60 minutes, not 20. But he's young and raw with oodles of natural talent, just a bit too much youthful enthusiasm. This week he'll get 20-25 minutes as Potgeiter won't go the distance yet either and when he comes off the bench it will need to be full-on.

His "fitness" will improve with game time and he'll know when to go and when to rest with a bit more experience.

Wise selection by Cheika, I think.

Okay - will be very interesting the condition he is in by the end of the season. If he can ever get fit enough with the frame, and be purposeful he will be the biggest player in the world.

Hawko, I agree he did a fair amount of work taking the ball into the defensive line, however, for someone his size he didn't really look like he was going to break the line or put a significant dent in it. He was a little too easy most of the time to bring to ground. Maybe he was more concerned about ball retention and setting the ball in a ruck rather than really attacking the defence.

I hope he is told to use his size and aggression when taking the ball into contact and concentrate firstly on breaking the line, then if he doesnt then get to ground and set the ball

I actually thought Skelton was quite good - got through a mountain of running work. Much more so than some of your more celebrated forwards (except big Paddy - he was pretty good as well)
