I totally agree Pfitzy, the atmosphere last year at ANZ was equivalent to a library, get a 30,000+ crowd at the SFS. Or even go back to Concord Oval?? I know sounds ridiculous.

I cannot wait for Gill V Hooper! I personally think Hooper will get the better of Gill later on in the game.

guys, there's no atmosphere at the SFS either. The upper crust, north shore sydney rah rah crowd just don't cheer. the only time you get loudness at the SFS is when Uni goes back and they offer discounted GA seats. the lions game had plenty of atmosphere last year, as have several bledisloes.

I'm from the Eastern Suburbs and I agree that wholeheartedly with the SFS over ANZ argument, however both stadiums have their flaws...

ANZ is simply built for a larger pitch, the fans are too far from the action.. There is no argument in that regard.. However transport is great, the only problem is that it's a fair hike from any entertainment areas.

SFS reminds me of an older slightly smaller Suncorp Stadium, but unlike Suncorp accessibility is ridiculous. Suncorp has the busways and train line providing access. SFS purely has priority bus lanes. If the SFS were built adjacent to a train line then Sydney crowds would triple immediately.

Concord simply isn't an option, it's lacks the corporate facilties and is highly inaccessible.

ANZ Stadium should be bulldozed to the ground, its a soulless ground with no atmosphere. They should have built a 20k rectangular ground at Barangaroo instead of another casino, now that would have been awesome.

Before they awarded Packer the licence for his casino, the NSW government should have made it a condition that his complex included a football stadium.

Packer Junior went to Cranbrook School didn't he? Did he play rugby while he was there?

I have no idea but the story goes that the Packers offered Cranbrook a theatre if James was made a prefect.

The school declined and instead, Ascham has the brilliant Ascham Packer Theatre complete with an orchestra pit and revolving stage.

SFS is a shocking stadium to get to and get home from. Even when I lived in the very inner west I hated getting there and found it actually easier to get to and from Homebush.

It's fine having the busway nearby, but actually loading and unloading the buses and getting them in and out is a complete mess and limits how many can take them.

There's a reason most choose to walk to Central from SFS rather than even bother with a bus to town.

Raining today.

Tahs CEO has said that a couple of rained out games could push the Tahs to the brink of the fiscal cliff (or words to the same general effect).

Not a good sign.

Damn good win by the Rebels. Tipping them to take out the title before the Tahs.

Edit: Oops, wrong thread.
