Bruce, apparently Reg Grundy has never seen the honour in the tradition. Personally, I reckon it'd be a great way to be celebrated via such an essential garment.

Is this off topic or just pre-game jitters?

What chance Beale having a blinder and winning the games for the Rebels?

Try after 25 seconds?

Danny, Kurtley and James must be snapping those wristbands like there's no tomorrow. I'll be surprised if they haven't gotten some sort of nerve damage to their arm by half time.

Nice maul from the Rebel forwards for that try. Beale running with some venom tonight.

After 5 minutes I thought the Tahs were going to have a blinder. Oh well at least I can hang onto those golden minutes. After that the usual Tahs asserted themselves, aimless kicks directly to a waiting defender, kicks with no chaser, immediate kick of good turnover ball. Passes to the ground or behind the man.

I compare this to the Crusaders and the Stormers last night and shake my head. If the Tahs are the top echelon of Oz Rugby then we really are second grade. They just are not in the same league.

JOC (James O'Connor) and Berrick had quite some collision. Physio, doctor, whoever it is snap that band. In all seriousness how he hasn't got a broken rib I don't know, looked like Berricks knee got him good, not intentional for mine. He's a tough bugger.

Not bad from the Rebels - 3 tries a piece. Tahs should have gone on though. Has Horne made a break all year?

He (Horne) did do a good job chasing down that kicking then ripping the ball back later in the game, until then the Tahs were a bit on the back foot. It will take time.

Overall a win is good yes but the Tahs would not be happy with that, a bonus point and much more tries would have been a result to generate much more confidence. Started well. Rebels came back and did well to get back into it but just not enough. JOC (James O'Connor) hopefully doesn't have a bad injury. Credit to the Tahs for kicking to touch and really trying to get over there, at least they were going for it.

I saw a lot of similarities between this match and the Reds v Stormers match albeit with a different result. The poor kicking when competition points were on the line, especially from McKibbin was poor - hasn't he learnt anything from the Reds match? Pretorius B.I.G. should have come on much earlier to give some stability and direction when it was needed most - probably when Horne was binned.

The Waratahs with their first half dominance and scoring the first try after only 26 seconds should have secured a 4 try bonus point. They had 79 minutes and 34 seconds to do so and the fact they were pushing for it right at the death knocking on the Rebels lines, for me, showed a lack of patience against a team who were quite poor last week.

Admittedly the Rebels showed up in the second half and could have come close to getting their own bonus points or better. They looked far better when both O'Connor and Cipriani went off. Cipriani has been more cold than hot since announcing his move to Sale Shorks next year.

O'Connor can be a victim of trying too hard, but not the case tonight. Kurtley Beale looked good at 10 towards the end and the Rebls could do worse than stick him in there for either a full game or a full 2nd half against tiring oppositio.

I can see Horne having a few weeks rest after his tackle on Beale, but who know what the SANZAR judiciary officer will spin up on the 'Wheel of Misfortune' this time? The only thing we do know is that Beale wasn't eye gouged i nthe tackle..or was he?

I assume foley has been working on restarts this year, a very good aspect of the tahs game, again tonight. Gaffney should work on getting barnes not to kick. The bloke is a real flat tyre

Horne will get off because Beale didn't act like a pussy on the ground.
Horne should be suspended. Same as Digby and a couple of others who I can't remember right now. He won't get 5 weeks though. Probable 2 I'd say.

At the game, I yelled bullshit at Kaplan, mainly because I was eager to yell at him as much as possible, but on replay said to Lindo "That'll be 2-4 weeks". It was dumb, and dangerous, and the fact that Beale was unhurt was neither here nor there.
Spin the Roulette Wheel Of SANZAR, cry "Faites vos jeux" and see what the chicken bones and goat's blood divine.
Anything from nothing to 5 weeks is in the mix.
