AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), Palu, Hooper and Folau are already big match players but this game really felt like a coming of age for Phipps and Foley. both were outstanding and proved to me that they are big match players.

All in all although we go crook at times about S15 being heaps better when it S12 etc, you do tend to forget that a little after what I have thought a bloody good final series starting 2 weeks back!!

A truly great final between two high quality teams. I think Joubert proved he's the best ref in super rugby by quite a distance.

Its a refence to the 'Call of the Wallaby' series that's been going on with foxtel. In the second episode, the grega-o meter is a decibel meter they just renamed. It was a tool for the show to emphasis that rugby supporters at the super level and higher are not as vocal as say the afl and league lovers at there local game.

Yes they were both outstanding and go way back to playing Colts together at Uni.

Still had trouble speaking most of today. What a game... can't ever recall feeling this good after a result. Not even after the '99 RWC win. This just kills everything with the drama, the pressure, the years of waiting. I lost my fucking shit watching that game 100 times yelling at everything. Bloke next to me with his kid seemed to be getting a little worried. These middle aged bastards have to learn how to arch up!

Otherwise, Crusaders are an absolute credit to themselves and country.
Great to hear the warm applause afforded Carter when he hobbled off too.

I'd love to hear the perspective on Joubers refereeing from a neutral point of view. From a semi neutral point of view I think he let both teams get away with a lot, but he was letting each team get away with different things.

The Cru were getting away with the offside line and the Tahs were getting away with sealing off on attack. But in a Castle like verdict, the vibe felt about right. I don't feel he advantaged either team.

Spoke to a few Irish boys after the game. Leinster fans, so they were going for us, but obviously not as wedded to the result. They thought he was pretty fair - doing his thing and giving the attacking team the advantage most of the time.

The only seriously contentious refereeing decision was Ayoub - how that moron awarded Nadolo's try when he both LOST the ball AND had a foot in touch still annoys me.

The TMO in rugby is a funny thing. If I'm not sure about if a try has been scored I usually think "what would I think if I had seen it happen in park footy with no TMO, what would I rule". The Nadolo try is tough because I think in park footy it would have been awarded.

In cricket the advantage is always to the batsmen. In rugby should the advantage be to the attacking team? I would say currently in Rugby advantage is to the defending team so that would normally mean no try in the Nadolo situation.

I can kind of get a sense why Ayoub could have ruled either way. But to me the biggest fuckup he made was not having a proper look at it. He made his decision too fast.

Just rewatching the game, and was wondering if anyone has any idea what the crowd by the foxsports desk end were chanting?

Sounded like they were hounding the panel but couldn't decipher what it was they were chanting because they were quietened live.

Edit: Can confirm one of the chants was "Nick McCardle, show your tits". It certainly amused Nobody, Mehrtens and Kearns.

Congrats Tahs.

Great season, great attacking rugby - culminating in a well deserved win.

Particularly happy for the NSW supporters who have had a long long wait for glory.

So happy for Swoop. First "grand final" win ever, even as a kid. To pull 2 tries, win MOM and the final is so very deserving - for one of the nicest and likeable blokes to have played rugby in this country.
