I seem to remember the Tahs home crowd booing them off the park.
I remember reading reports of this also, but it's not what happened at all.
The crowd were booing a very poor decision by the touch judge, from memory he awarded the Tahs kicked the ball out on the full however it was touched by an opposition player.

As for the Tahs forwards bulking up being effective - or not: my jury is still out until I see them in action against a top pack.

Perhaps not this week, but we'll certainly know by the end of next week. The Blues/Crusaders game was a belter.

only on an internet site with opinion and blogs could so many of us criticise a jurno while ignoring our own shortcomings.

Your faith in humanity is greater than mine, I suppose.

I had the same issue after the Tahs v Highlanders game last year.

Aus papers were complaining about how dire the game was and the kiwi papers were commenting on the tough conditions and the quality execution by the Highlanders.

Some Aus journos seem to want extra points added for artistry ...........................

Perception is all. The loss of the dynamic continuity and foward play that charecterised past Wallabies forward packs, the League style plays that dominated under Jones coupled with continual reporting that Australia need to throw the ball wide and only in this way was Rugby exciting has given this rubbish legs.

Rugby needs Rugby forward plays which I find as enthralling as any backline move. Real Rugby forward play, not isolated one out runners hitting the one or two channel, not blind pounding of the line phase after phase, but that dynamic drive forward, quick ball, pick and drive, offloading, mauling that we used to see and has slowly started to come back into the Australian game.

WJ, if you want to pay me as much as the SMH does Growden, I'll criticise my own (meagre) shortcomings all bloody day.

Said he was going to wait till the last minute to give all the players a chance. Not very helpful from a Fantasy rugby point of view. Hope to have a team tomorrow.
