Savage defence by the Tahs. Good game so far. Tahs looking clinical and very dangerous. Am I the only one that saw Turner being held back after his chip ahead.

Pretty shithouse firm the Reds. Genia immense, Cooper, Diggers & Hynes trying but the forwards are just getting done. Missing Braid big time. Big Kev's injury is a huge loss too.

Half time Chalkboard.
Tahs are much more aggressive at the tackle, driving Reds players back on a number of occasions. Plus Tahs are not missing many. Reds are. Tahs also moving the ball well and have beaten the defence with quick passing at times. Quade without a lot of frontfoot ball looks like, well, any 10 without it. Ineffective. Not his fault.
Reds have lost some key players already - Horwill with an ankle injury, Davies who was basically TPN-ed.
If Barnes was kicking better it'd be 15 points or more.
Reds had a couple of good passages of play but squandered it each time.

I suspect quade may not have worked on the D in the off-season. Big worry for the Wobs.

Excellent defence from NSW. QLD paying the price for not having a pilferer. Get Robinson on. Quirk ineffectual. The ref is an idiot. And i mean that both ways Turner should be subbed for being gutless. Run it. Stop kicking. Beale in scintillating form. Excellent pass to Mitchell on lhs.

The Waratah's kicking is a problem that could come back to bite in a big way. If not in this game, certainly in the winter games as weather takes affect and tries become more difficult.

Yeah, 'cos with another ref the Reds would be up by 20....
Give it a rest.

Provincialisms taking over lads, dont mind me.

On a totally different note, genia getting very slow ball to the backline. Would'nt let him anywhere near a gold jersey with this type of service?

I am prepared to say that the Reds forwards are getting outmuscled at this stage of the game. They have attempted three mauls all of which have gone backwards. The defence of the Tahs is totally dominant, helped mightily by the Human Missile that is TPN. Wouldn't want to get tackled by Douglas, Kepu or Dennis for that matter either. Waugh is everywhere again.

Mowen stood in the tackle of Davies and Higginbum to offload for Mitchell's try.

Good forty minute performance. So far so good.
