Isn't it frightening, a team with a backline of Wallabies in Phipps, Foley, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper), Beale had such abysmal skills, passes behind players, static players, Beale crabbing across field doesn't need mentioning it is the norm. For 10+ years we have been bemoaning the same failings. with some highlights in the 2010-11 Reds and 2014 Tahs. The rest has been this shade of mediocre. We have changed coaches every other year, we have tried stability in coaching, we have certainly had stability in players with the same blokes guaranteed their pay checks year on year, but nothing has changed. The system is broke.

Brumbies dominated the match, were up by twenty five points at half time, scored eleven more points in the end and two more tries............... but it was the Tahs game to lose.

Speak for yourself (or at least for the Tahs) Gnostic. Apart from missing the finals last year, the Brumbies have made it to the playoffs most years since about 2012 or 13. Some years their form has been not so good but this year they have beaten two NZ sides and Three SA teams. I think they have earned their spot and they are playing pretty good rugby most of the time in the second half of the season. They don't look broken to me.

If you want to jizz yourself over it go for it. You must have been particularly proud of the try resulting from Bank's knock on and McCaffrey's fumble.
I'll stick with my opinion that the Tahs gave the game to the Brumbies in the first half. The only area I though the Brumbies were dominant was the driving maul, it's been their strength all season.

The ref deemed that a Tahs hand knocked it out of Banks hand so knocked back. That wasn't the losing of the game for the Tahs, letting in all those tries in the 1st half was - I am not a Brumbies fan but that 1st half was impressive.

Yes but that's what I'm getting at, the Tahs shouldn't have let themselves get in that position, as always they made too many mistakes. After that the scoreline was 21-7 in favour of the Tahs. I still think the Brumbies were the better side and deserved to win marginally, but generally it was an evenly matched contest.

And yet only 5 years ago that was exactly the formula for success.
I understand teams can’t stand still, but I can’t really understand why Gibson has gone so far away from a clearly successful formula without any real evidence that it would be successful.
I get that modern forward packs are generally more athletic, but they are no less powerful. In fact, they are more powerful then ever. Guys like Whitelock, Read, Coles & Itoje are very athletic, but they are physically dominant as well (and I am kind of ignoring Retallick who, IMO, stands out on his own as a mix of power and athletic capacity).

Not intended as such, on the contrary I have been trying to explain that I thought it was a generally evenly matched contest and I enjoyed it up until that moment which ruined it for me because had the Tahs been able to score again it was game on. Perhaps Learning Curve has explained it but it certainly didn’t look to be the case and I’m hoping to get another look at it.
Otherwise I enjoyed it and I thought there was some good individual performances from both sides, however I realise it’s beyond the scope of yourself and BR to give credit to any Tahs players. Brumbies are a better coached side and the Tahs make too many mistakes but man on man there isn’t much between the sides,

Because Gibson won't admit that he is wrong. He recruits to his type of football, light mobile pack, hot potato passes, individual brilliance to get him home. It has never worked and never will and yet every single year he keeps going with it.
Gibson won't lead the Tahs to a grand final win but next year he will be one of the longest coaches at the Tahs. That is a scary thought. I have no idea how he keeps convincing Tahs management that he is worth persisting with.
Recruitment needs to be taken away from him.
The scary thing is there are many players off contract and I have the feeling that the Tahs will go for the scraps again
