I was looking forward to being the token Afrikaner on board and then realised I fly abroad that afternoon.

Enjoy the evening, next time T78.

I agree re stadium beer, if you can get one that is.

That's the beauty of a Saffer team in town - less competition to get a watery cup of piss.

Well, I hate to piss on waratahjesus' stats, but the Blues game drew slightly fewer punters than the Shorks, despite the predicted influx of UnZidders from Bondi, eh?
Certainly not 5000 more. Maybe they went to the AFL? :lmao:

Well, thanks, Pedallist.   If I didn't grasp the initiative for things social in Sydney we'd be no better than Queenslanders. At least I can say we in the Premier State can organise a pissup.

Hate to bring this back to Jake White, but does anyone know what he would actually DO in this new position?

Sensational question :)

Would assume:

1. Talent identification and making sure programs are put in place to manage them
2. Consistency in coaching philosophies down to age level so players coming through have an understanding what to expect
3. Evaluate the performance of coaches and assist them where needed
4. Oversee development programs
5. I would assume a lot of technical analysis?

I don't think it's a case of the coach reporting to him but. Gues it depends what the Tahs want but all thise things seem like areas that need work?

Seems like Jake would be good at those things. The Bok players certainly got better under him. If I remember he switched out some people who were in favor under the last coach and replaced them with much better players.

Would he really do that much technical analysis? I thought it was a more adminstrative position, but I haven't investigated too much.

Jake will only take the job if it include Eddie Jones as co coach. Word from the inside of camp Lions are that he totally fucked their game.

WJ, you know, and I know that you originally raised the issue of Kiwi games drawing more after the Sharks game, not the Lions. What was the attendance at the Sharks game?
Checked myself - 20,651 so I apologise, there were 338 more Kiwis than Saffers there. Still can't account for the missing 4,662.

i know, and if the blues game was the week after the sharks game, then that would be something but the lions got in between so the crowd dropped again and then the kiwi team built it back up somewhat. plus, i wasnt talking from absolute i was just saying that kiwi teams usually draw more on past history as there is a large kiwi fan base in sydney. i was right, as i am 99% of the time, it might just take some a year or to to catch up.
