Significant increase on those figures though Blue. There are a lot of Saffers coming in over the last few years I might add, as several companies decided about 3 years ago to start picking off Saffers from the UK and RSA to liven up our stagnant employment market. There are four in my dept at the moment at work (one of whom is Chinese by origin - its an accent like you've never heard!), so don't be surprised if those numbers creep a little at the next census.

Some of them are on 4-year terms and might head back though.

And back to Jake - I don't really give a shit what the hierarchy do at NSWRU, so long as they separate S14 operations from the rest of the franchise. They've made it abundantly clear over the years that they can find a way to cock up the most simple of situations, so the personnel they get aren't going to make it any easier.

All that about Jake rings true.

As one good judge mentioned recently on another thread:

Jake's teams weren't too expansive were they, but they were building for a RWC then with the players they had then and the way Saffer Super teams played then - give or take - and with the way they were refereed then. But put him in charge of a S14 team these days with the way they are refereed now and the way they have changed, and I'm sure that he would work out what style of rugby would work these days and be able to implement it. He's a winner.

Quoting yourself?

'n Khaki Tah, ne...?

Oom, can I borrow the Mauser? Dankie, Oom...

Anyhoo; Jake White is, at the moment, sitting on the Avontuur wine farm, looking out at the Helderberg over one of the finest collections of thoroughbreds and vintage cars you could wish for, wondering what the newly-harvested 2010 will be like, wondering if he'll walk five minutes to 96 Winery, or drive five minutes to chat rugby with Oom Hempies du Toit at Annandale, or head into Die Dorpie to watch the parade of young Matie loveliness, before returning to his new wife, an ex-Miss South Africa.

So, how much money do you think it would cost to make him leave that, gentlemen...?

Perception and perspective, T78, perception and perspective.

The view of the assets you describe is very different from a bog in Ireland and from the northern beaches of Sydney.

Vok ja I think his grannys is pretty proud having a spoil brat ashamed to be from the Republic. Hope he enjoy life in the land of milk and honey. ::)

All depend if Jake can bring his x Mrs SA along, Yolanda Kloppers (love that surname) have all the tools.

Hey as a side note, Thomo hope the Sydneyers treat you and the Mrs to death this week and just maybe you'll bring luck to the hapless Tin Ears. Jerre they are struggling and need all the help they can get.

Having been in a position to appraise both sets of assets; I'd not be diversifying if I were Jake, put it that way. ;)

Didnlt realise that's what Jake is up to these days. Wine farm and all that.

He is still young though and having read his book, totally obsessed with rugby.

He must be looking for a rugby challenge at some stage and a few years abroad will be on the cards for him.

Well, we were going to be nice, but he made it rain apparently, so that might change things!
We'll be there on Saturday night - unfortunately the stadium beer is rubbish, so we may have to get him "entertained" before the game.

With this shitty weather, my plans to sail up to Pittwater/The Hawkesbury and spend the weekend up there have changed and will now be taking my rightful seat in Bay 10. Whats the plan for pre/post beers?

There is also the possibility of a couple of spare tix next to me. The usual holders are jetting off somewhere and said they would entrust me to find a good home. Will confirm tomorrow.

Riddler, Lindo is the self-appointed social secretary for such things - I'll wait till he outlines the itinerary for our Oirish Interloper.
