I'm giving up my seat on the 22 to sit with the 30 or so members who happen to belong to my rugby club...

WJ, what IS with the hate? Jealous? Well you know that saying, if you can't beat them, join them. And we will be sitting right behind you.

Last count there will be 87 freebies and out of my group, 10 extras

what hate?
i was saying giving away free tickets on a rotational basis isnt growing a supporters group. ive reread my post and there is no hate at all.
the group i sit with did it for 5 years, nsw rugby decided they didnt want it anymore and 20 of us have remained with memberships etc during the years it hasnt been on. that i believe reserves the right to be called diehard.

last week they gave away tickets to a group that wasnt yours hodgo, we taught this group a few chants they taught us a couple, this week there not going to be there cos they have rotated the tickets, meaning that there will be disjointed groups from 4 or 5 different areas forming one group again.

you mentioned several times that the leader of your group is only giving them away to true fans, as i said, its great if they keep coming learn chants and join in fantastic, but out of the 87 you mentioned, how many of them where attending before the ticket was free, this is the problem with calling it true fans and a supporters group that if the tickets dry up the fans go with it. i know this as ive sat in the rain at the end of the stadium for many years while its been close to empty.

there isnt hate i was commenting on the situation that was being discussed, not your group individually, as ive never met them.

that said, if berrick leaves do you go with him? whats the rules of being a player fan before a team?

I trust we don't see open warfare between the rival groups of Waratah supporters. They'll probably both be well primed but WJ's lot are the more seasoned drinkers.

A key part of why this won't work.. Australian rugby fans don't make noise. Period. Ever. Lions tour 2001 anyone? I'd love it if they did. I'm a season pass holder as well and coming as I do from being raised on the Lansdowne Roar the SFS hush took a lot of time to get used to.

I hope HB's group make a shed load of noise and it gets contagious and the Tahs officials do something about making it a long term plan. It would be better if they made a section of the MAIN stands available at a discount to people who wanted to do it longer term so you got the best of both worlds, atmosphere and a good seat.

That said it will never work at Home-sick (sorry homebush) cos 30K fans in an 80K seater simply cant make noise even if they want too.

Fair point I have not seen any rebels games, outside that Tahs game rd 1. Good luck to them if they get consistent noise happening hopefully it will inspire the other sides in the longer term .

Good job by the crew last night, in the first half at least. You did seem to go quite quiet in the 2nd though, what happened? Will you be doing it again at the Lions match?

The leader lost his voice & we got more drunk as the game went on.

Will be back at the lions game. If you want to join us, let me know, more vocal the better, will chat to James (the organiser) about putting leaders in designated spots in the bay.

Also tah man loved us, gotta work on a few songs (I'll put the Waratahs fuck yeah song to them)

About 20 people will be axed due to non involvement but the Women's team to stay as they were the most vocal.

Post game the 15-20 girls from Waverley rugby screaming out to Berrick barnes - priceless.

Also Waratah Jesus, you say your crew were so diehard had season memberships I knew you were in te same bay as us you didn't even make an appearance.... Funny that.
