Huge Waratahs positivities:
- based in the SH's most affluent major city with huge sports interest and following;
- close to the best and biggest junior rugby talent feeder system in Australia, plus good Country feeder system;
- Sydney's business elite runs many of Aus's top companies and are generally rugby followers or sympathisers;
- many top sports sponsoring local and international companies HQ'd in Sydney;
- quite large Kiwi and Saffa populations that will generate potentially good supplementary gate income for S15 and national teams playing in Sydney;
- reasonably well-sited SFS, not too big or small;
- league still has negative connotations for many parents when working out what games to prioritise for their kids, and some people are repelled by league's general image, whereas rugby has a 'cleaner' vibe as a Sydney sport.
What's there not to like about these key strategic market/context attributes when building and supporting the Tahs' cause?
