Waratahs 2025

Wilson

John Eales (66)
Could we see him getting a call up to the wallabies squad for TRC and Lions just for experience and potential game time.
Incredibly unlikely. I like Grant, but he's behind (in form and most cases experience) Salakaia-Loto, Frost, Swain, Williams, Canham and Blyth, and that's before you consider guys who can fill in at lock (Uru, Hooper, Leota) or potential overseas picks like Skelton.

It might be different if he had a strong combo with some of the other wallabies but as it stands Bell, Porecki and Tupou are the only tight 5 tahs that will be in the squad and Grant hasn't played enough with Porecki to claim any sort of combination there.

And even Matt Phillip

I'd say no @The GroundsKeeper because of the fellas in front of him. He's 26 and who knows in a couple of years and good luck to him. At this stage I think he can be a good steady part of the Tahs pack moving forward. You need 3-4 of his type players in the side that earn a start and don't break the bank.

He looks so lean but he's still listed at 118kg so a good asset to have. He seems to start at most teams he lands at as well which tells me coaches like him and what he brings which is good for the group.

Scares me re Wilson but hopeful they can get in his ear that he is the future and sign him past the WC if possible.

You've been in 21 games now and 6 starts. Thomas at the Reds is coming into his own now at almost 60 games having sat behind Tate.

The Gordon signing does mean the Wallabies staff must see him as the guy. Tate's been good, White up & down but good and Thomas good. With how Wilsons showing impressive signs it really puts players like Lonergan a way back in my mind.
Having two good 9s is a necessity
